That would be a No then. The payroll officer has just confirmed no increment has been paid. She said she would email them and they would adjust it next month. My turn to say no.
I explained I'd been holding on for this increment since I'd started and I'm stretched beyond belief. She's going to ask them for a cheque.

Good for you for putting your foot down Butti. Bah to payroll.

The annoying thing is Fortune, I emailed HR about 2 weeks ago and queried the higher rate not appearing on my coming payslip. They said it would be added automatically.

I talk to payroll yesterday and they say HR have to action the change to the pay rate.

Someone's lying and my bet is it's not payroll. It's the audacity of saying something you know patently not to be true and the fact that I quized them on this weeks ago.

How annoying. It's much better if people just put their hands up and say 'Sorry, I made a mistake' and then put it right immediately

if in London I used to go to Rigby and Peller, but frankly the best I had recently was a small independent lingerie shop in Wales!

Bravissimo near Covent Garden...but I have to say the best fitting I ever had was a wee shop in Carlisle! Bit embarrassed because I have an infected blocked sebaceous cyst on my back. Looks like I'm on set with Sigourney Weaver and an alien is about to break forth!

Well...back to work today and feeling a bit tired and a little shell shocked. Had a lovely few days and saw some lovely people and explained the principle of refunds to some others. There are some really ar*ey people out there.

Back home and back to reality.
    Annual review tomorrow and the question of where I see myself in 5 years time, to which there are two answers;
    a. A project manager here if you pay me more money or I get promotion
    b. Out of here if you don't.

May need to think of how to rephrase those :rotfl:

Could really save money tonight but the idea of making a chicken curry with the chicken that was marked 'eat immediatly' and then travelled home for about 3 hours on the bus with me, 'may' not be my best idea.

Have just ordered a book for £3 on Ebay for book club 'Sophie Hannah - Little Face'. Could have ordered from Amazon but I don't like their tax policy. Suspect Ebay may not be any better!!! Anyone?

Well according to this ebay did at least pay some Butti.

I would say what you mean about the five year thing, tactfully of course and let them know how much you enjoy certain aspects just that you have ambition and NEED money!

    Well feeling a bit deflated.
It appears the reason I haven't had an increment in August was because they already gave me one in April by mistake. Of course the woman in HR didn't send me this message, just left my email to her asking what was happening...hanging. When I asked her she explained I'd already had it but that they weren't going to ask for the overpayment back and then pulled this FACE :D with all the sincerety of Robert Maxwell with your credit card in his hand. Really doesn't that sort of response invite a fist. That was this mornings disappointment!

This afternoons was an agreement in my Personal Development Review between my two managers that the essential car user allowance has no element for a new car but has an element for insurance and maintenance and repairs and that's that. The company are no longer doing company cars end of story. They are both talking from the perspective of having company cars. I like them but it really wasn't what I wanted to hear.

Think I'd better focus on getting good experience in the next year and then getting a better paid job.

    Really feeling a bit gutted.
