He has a fundamental problem with understanding why we have a TV licence and a TV in the lounge. He 'hardly' watches the TV so he doesn't need to pay for the TV licence???!!!!!!!!!!!

Hardly doesn't cover it. You either do, or do not. It's like trying to claim you're hardly pregnant.

Completely ignores the fact that we have a functioning TV in thme communal lounge so we can have one TV licence covering four TVs. Get rid of that TV and we are each required to have a TV licence to cover our own TVs. Maybe I need to draw him a diagram?

You don't need that communal TV. It (apparently) goes off electricity. Yes. Really. If you take your TV around to a friends' - they need a TV license because it uses their electricity. If it's a non-mains portable then you need the TV license (as presumably it's your electricity).

I hear the sounds of the TV licensing people making shit up as they're going along.

Honestly I feel like we are the class of doom!!!

Sounds more like teacher of doom. There is a spread of ability in every class - even "streamed" ones. For *everyone* to be below standard, you've got it examine the standard they're being taught.

Well this weekend I am spending. I am going up north to the sea for lots of this :beer::beer::beer: with a number of friends.

Don't drink too much. Don't want you looking ghastly. Again... :rotfl:

The one awkward blighter who sometimes turned up, getting progressively more drunk, awkward, loud and generally obnoxious (and displaying the latest stains on his trousers ) has died so he won't be there.

    That's what you think...

I, unfortunately, went on to the announcement of his death and tried to post a sympathetic comment (he wasn't entirely without merit - he was very good on bus timetables and on beer [if you got him sober]).

If my 1 of 2 merits to be eulogised after my death, was that I was good at bus timetables - I'd rather it wasn't...

Enjoy it while you can. Only large bodies of water you'll be seeing after this weekend are flooding rivers...

Well I think TV-licence-gate is getting me down. At the same time I'm thinking I'm not bl**dy letting him get away with this.

Think it may be worth throwing another £1k at my debt just to bring salvation and freedom from mice a bit closer. :T:T:T Atmosphere at home is not great although the mices are quite friendly!

Tonight is the pub quiz and everyone's most irritating club member has returned to repeat himself over and over and over again.:eek:

On more positive news (before I go home and count dead mice) a friend has sent me a job description of something I can do remarkably easily, for a large part am already doing, which pays £3k more than I am being paid at the moment and is in a nice part of the country (well not quite this country) and would be closer to the sea, very close to the sea (not working for the RNLI!!)

I'm not sounding terribly upbeat am 1? Feel a bit flat! :(

Well got through today...more through sheer bl**dymindedness than anything else.

Checking on five properties we did last year and all apart from one had damp :(

Someone started our visit by having a go at my professionalism which I didn't think was part of the remit of looking at a property. Really p*ssed me off I can tell you, especially when I have to say "I'm sorry you feel that way". I know they are angry, I know they are p*ssed off but I'm just the person trying to massively improve their circumstances with about 50p to work with.

Nice when you do work and it works but not very satisfying when you sense your efforts are doomed and six months later there is confirmation of that!
