Butti's Journey: A matter of loaf and death

Well got through today...more through sheer bl**dymindedness than anything else.
Sometimes that's just the way it has to be done. :grouphug:Nice when you do work and it works but not very satisfying when you sense your efforts are doomed and six months later there is confirmation of that!:mad:

It's so good to have you back on here Z. You bring kindness with a martini dry sense of humour!

Humour? I get the feeling you think I'm kidding. I'm not kidding alas...My bosses have also come out in support of me in the last couple of days. It's a hell of a contrast with jobs in the past.
That is good - excellent in fact. You absolutely don't want to work in IT then. That sort of thing is not quite the done thing. Last year, we organised an event where staff would feed back how they thought IT and the management were doing. It was not kind...
A roadshow was scheduled immediately afterwards to share the results and to explain to the staff exactly how deluded they were.
I bet you think I'm kidding again..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Well.....very stressy week this week. So stressy infact that I got taken into my managers office TWICE this week to ask if I was okay because she was worried I was going under.
Well apart from inspecting damp properties and getting grief for them, being bombarded with emails marked URGENT from one person. She obviously either has really poor time management or hasn't heard the story of the boy who cried wolf!
On the second visit I admitted to;
- TV licence-gate
- Mouse in kitchen cupboards
- A messy bedroom
- A landlady visiting to measure windows up
I didn't confess to the need to sort out what the landlady will see when she visits unless I sort it, which is Segasso Sea painted around the furniture in the bay window with the furniture picked out in the original colour. Yes I know....the people I told today were also impressed!!

Out for a pub crawl tomorrow with 15 men

No, that's good. A one with 14 men and 15 women would have been bad..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Pub crawl was good. Met some nice people.
Today Operation tidy and paint bedroom. Better get out of bed!
Have about £600 to claim back which I will be doing and telling you about tomorrow and will be shifting £500 across to the HSBC 18% APR credit card from the savings which will get me close to clearing it.Debt LBM (08/09) £11,641. DEBT FREE APRIL 2021.

Well so 'Operation paint bedroom' went well. Operation 'Tidy Bedroom' is more a work in progress - did get one big box off to storage. Need to get stuff out from under the bed and replace it with other stuff not under the bed (are you still awake - exciting stuff eh?!!!
). I hope the landlady doesn't come until tomorrow. Gives me a bit more of a fighting chance.
So tonight...apart from an hour tidying/sorting/crying I will also be practicing sign language for an hour and filling in forms / asking for money back.
I have shifted £500 across to the HSBC credit card, the 18% one :eek:, bringing it down to £632. Once the list below and this months payment has been applied (haven't paid anything towards it yet [minimum payment comes out about 3 days before pay day] because it is also currently incurring an 18% APR :eek:. Trying to minimise the costs of both). After this months minimum payment and an additional payment of £250 we shall see where we are!
So what else are we (ie. me!) claiming this month?
Money back from the company's medical policy for glasses £20
Tax on an election I worked a couple of years ago £60
Final bill and loyalty payment from First Utility c. £200
Vouchers from my nightmare train journey last weekend
A replacement bra for the faulty one I bought......
and.....TRA-DA Pay attention if you drive as part of your job and get paid 25p a mile essential car user allowance
I can claim the tax on the difference between the 25p rate and the tax man's expected 45p rate. So;
if you drive 5000 miles a year you need to work out;
5000 x 0.2 (the amount) x 0.2 (the tax on this amount)
I think that is right. Not a small amount if you do a lot of miles!

So....focused on trying not to spend money before pay day next Friday. It has helped that I've been too late in booking a ticket for a comedy night on Friday. That has changed today into an NSD
and changed tomorrow into a non-going out day (every cloud 'n' all that!:cool:)
Email has been down at work this afternoon AGAIN so that has led to a somewhat frustrating day and the consumption of three digestive biscuits (What is that all about!!)
In terms of list of money collecting;
Money back from the company's medical policy for glasses £20 Done
Tax on an election I worked a couple of years ago £60
Final bill and loyalty payment from First Utility c. £200
Letter drafted - evidence to be collected tonight and sent off tomorrow
Vouchers from my nightmare train journey last weekend"
Evidence collected and to be put together tonight
A replacement bra for the faulty one I bought.....Faulty one sent off at lunchtime free of charge
Not too bad :T
Last night was a bit of a mixed bag.
Went to Sign Language class, forcing myself to go at the moment because failing the exam was a bit of a kick in the teeth. But I have paid now, my motives are good, I only have to last another 5 months. I think I should just grit my teeth and put in the hours because shortly I should be enjoying it again. There is just a lot on at the moment.
Got feedback on the filming of my exam, some of which was very positive and some not so good. I pretty much agreed with what the teacher said....and I need to practice everyday between now and end of March (exam). Anyway the first bit of feedback was that I shouldn't wear a short skirt or move around so much !!! How much do you think they saw?:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
Maybe the wrong lips were moving? :rotfl:
In the pub quiz after we won...meaning we get a free round of drinks next week :beer::beer:
I also got my raffle ticket pulled enabling me to take part in a version of Bruce's ITV quiz, was it 'Play your cards right?' for about £1701st card a 6....... changed it for a 7:rotfl:...... Went higher a Jack.....lower.....another Jack. End of game. I was alright with this as I'd prepared myself for losing. Got called an idiot by someone on my own pub quiz team which I thought was a bit rich for a bl**dy game of probability! Maybe she watches Deal or No Deal and thinks it actually is a game of strategy :rotfl:
Am going to watch Rugby in the pub with friends on Saturday so that will be nice....and yesterday (definately not an NSD day I booked my accommodation so that I can work a beer festival this month. Cost me £72 for two nights, there'll be free beer and it's something to look forward to this month.
Right better go home and cook. I think A girl called Jack's cookbook is out now so that may be my treat once I have been paid.Debt LBM (08/09) £11,641. DEBT FREE APRIL 2021.
