if i recieved enough to take me over the personal allowance, would that mean that i'm not owed anything,

It depends on the amount. You have paid enough tax to be £3669 over the personal allowance. Phone up HMRC and ask about a possible rebate. If they have all the info they will tell you.

and once this tax code gets changed next month, we're all square and the apparent mix up with me getting various codes in the post didn't actually effect me?

Once the 810L code is used you will get back any overpaid tax for this tax year so that's fine.

I'm not certain that this is correct, but on one of my spreadsheets where I keep employment info, I have a figure of £3410 written down, which may be the total from the JSA.

    Where would that put me?

Ok if that's the case then £10,386.05 in total for taxable income. That would normally see £582.21 tax paid. You have paid £733.80 from the figures you have given me so far so an overpayment of £151.59.

So yes worth a phone call to find out. Phone now - they are open.

Been on hold for the last 15mins.

Im confused as to what to say.

What tax year am I looking for a refund on? 2011/2012?

and the JSA - does that even come into it? I signed off in May of 2011.

If I include teh JSA and the other 2 jobs and put all the info into the HMRC calculator, it tells me that I'm not due a rebate

    Yes it is.

It will come into it but probably less than you told me then. JSA from 6th April 2011 till whenever you stopped in May 2011 will count.

    What did you enter?

    I entered in £10380 (£3410jsa + £3580agency +£3390) minus the combined tax on the 3 of them(£733).

But like you say, if we're only talking about a few weeks of JSA (from 6th of April 2011 and I signed off in May 2011) then it changes things again. That JSA £3410 would be more like £240

I was unable to get through anyway (unlike this morning where I was able too). Maybe try tomorrow or maybe a letter would be better bearing in mind I get myself into a mumbling mess when i'm talking about things that I dont understand!

Using the HMRC calculator I entered the £10,386 that I told you about earlier. In the 2nd box you enter the tax paid which over the 2 jobs was £733.80.

The calculator then told me you were due a refund of £150.80 as opposed to the £151.59 i told you. So near enough.

Yes you should be due more back.

Around 8am is a good time to call.

You only have to say that you believe you are due a rebate for tax year 2011/12 as you believe you paid too much tax. let them take it from there.

Was able to get through this morning.
They already had the info from the 2 jobs, but they haven't recieved anything from the jobcentre yet! (which I guess is why I haven't received anything?)

I signed off in May 2011! But she said it could take up until November before they get anything back from them, at which point they'll refund me.
    Bit weird.

Been searching last night and this morning, but have just this second found it! (part 1a, part2 and part 3)

    total pay: £161.00

Do I send one of these forms to someone and it'll get fixed quicker, maybe?
