    If it is done correctly the only change will be a second master socket or even replacing the single socket with a dual master socket.

    Wonder if BTs order system would actually allow a second landline to be provided to a property when one already exists on someone else's account....

    I would tell the landlord to get stuffed (politely).

    You pay for exclusive use of the property including its utilities and if you were told there was a phone line then you're entitled to expect that you'd be able to take it over and use it for broadband.
    A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.
