SGS3 poor mobile signal?

Hi all

I've just got an SGS3 to play around with but right now I'm finding that the mobile signal is pretty poor. I'm sitting in a spot at home where signal is notoriously patchy but the SGS3 is just saying 'emergency calls only', and has done for the last 10 minutes. In comparison, my iPhone 4S would have signal in the same location. Is the SGS3 known for poor signal quality? Its not something I've read anyone saying it suffers from.

Thanks

M.

I have both iPhone 4s and s3 also have the same problem with s3 on vodafone. The places where you get some signal with 4s, no signal on s3. Same problem with the Wifi so not sure if it is a hardware or software problem.

I have the IP4s and SGS3 as well. Whilst the SGS3 is far better then the IP4s in many ways. I do find that SGS3 cannot hold on to a signal as well as the IPhone. If you want a decent phone for signal IMO its either the IP4s or the Nokia Lumia 900 that cannot be beaten.

Hmmmmmmmmmm, oh well. I wasn't expecting the SGS3 to have worse signal than the 4S given all the bad talk about the iPhone's signal!

This is the price you pay for faster CPU and big screen great when it works. With iPhone 4 the signal was fine bit of a design fault if you hold the phone in certain way. The 4s don't have that problem. I hope the iPhone 5 works the same. You also need the phone to make calls and use Internet on the move.

I think you're mistaken, it seems this thread is an iphone troll thread!

Unlike some of you many people like to know good and bad point about mobile phones. This is not all about how perfect Android phones are and how iPhone, windows phone and others are waste of money.
Some of you may not like it but I am sure many like to know good and bad points about phones, most will be use it for two years or more.

Need to grow up. If you can't help the op don't write the post.
2 or 3 users here always try to move the thread to how great Android is rather then have a useful discussion about pro and con of each phone.

It might help if you post the signal strength data.

You have to remember that most people here are users not engineer. As such posts are going to be based on their experience rather then row data.
