Sofa doesn't fit ! My fault

How did you buy the sofa, was bought on-line?The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

A proportion of responsibility should lie on the door manufacturer.
They didn't built your door by the standard ,so this led to your fault.
Then you can ask them for compensation.0 -
99.9% of sofas will fit through a standard sized doorway, the problems arise due to the positioning of the door and the hallway it leads into. Even measuring the sofa before purchase wont gaurantee it will fit into the house. OP, have you tried removing the door or taking the window out?Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Surely whoever fitted the door bought a door to fit the hole (maybe with a little adjustment).
There is no blame to be attached to either the door manufacturer or whoever fitted it.
That is ridiculous.0 -
I had this problem a few years back. I bought a sofa from Furniture Village and when it arrived it didn't fit though my front door because the shape of the hallway wouldn't allow us to tilt the sofa to get it through the doorway (hope that makes sense!). They removed the arms but it was still too big, can you try that on your sofa?
As we had committed to buy it we couldn't do anything about it. The shop manager recommended a carpenter who cut the wooden frame to allow it to be moved into our living room and the he put it back together when in place. It wasn't cheap - about £100 at the time but we had no option. We had to call the same guy out a few years later when we were moving, a right pain but a lesson learned.0 -
If all else fails you cant fit sofa through windows assuming its reasonable size. Its fairly easy to remove double glazing panels and wont cost a arm and a leg, my neighbour did this a few months back.0

Currently looking at window removing options, might be an exchange though. Can't believe a 3 seater that splits in 2 won't fit !0

Take the door off? i had to do this."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

We had fun getting ours in.
When it arrived the guys took a good 30 mins trying and failing to get it in the front, and then the back door.
They were just about to give up when I suggested removing the two ends (you could see they were bolted on as it was a sofa bed so the bolts were on show when you looked in from underneath it. 5 mins later it was in and bolted back together again.
I had people on standby to come and take the bay window out just incase though as I knew it was our problem if they couldn't get it in!0
