Wait until they die off and the houses start being sold off. Just wait..... Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
Perhaps Gingernutty, it is more to do with the area you live in and the kind of people who inhabit it than the fact it's a cul-de-sac?LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012

I've skipped bits of this thread so you may have said (or you may not want to, which is fine) but whereabouts are you looking?0

Thank you.
I thought from the way you spoke that you were looking in an expensive area! I don't know Walsall well but you can buy really nice 3 bed semis there for well under £150K.0 -
I'm picky.
Near but not on a bus route, no kids, I'm no Percy Thrower so a small garden, 3 bed is probably too big so 2 bed, no terraces, nice area (Highgate looks very genteel but it's very pricy), no cul-de-sacs, near shops and amenities, no kids, I'm not crazy for new builds, parking space or drive, not much maintenance required etc.
I am looking but there aren't that many that tick all the boxes..... Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

I'd knock "no kids" off your list - there may be none when you buy but loads in 5 years' time.0 -
The no kids thing is going to be really difficult unless you bought in a retirement village, and even then, it's likely that there will be grandchildren at times.0

IT'S OVER!!
The final cheque arrived on Wednesday, I paid it in yesterday and all legal business is finished.
There's a little business to transact over the headstone Dad shares with Mum, but aside from that it's all good.
The money is going to be parked up in a savings account and I'll be going over my options.
There's probably going to be a few threads about that. Sorry.
Thanks for all your help and advice. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0
