Yes it's just her, or it should be.
Not sure what they put in a family bag but think its the same but more of it perhaps? When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I would buy eggs instead of sausages, they are much more versatile.
Ok here's what I have come up with.Breakfasts:
malted wheats with milk, sugar and a glass of juice, tea or coffee or a cereal bar
Lunches
1. Spaghetti with meatballs
2. left over pie with 1/3 tin potatoes roasted with 1/3 tin sweetcorn
3.Soup
4.spaghetti and meatballs
5. ¼ bag pasta with the other half of the soup and 1/3 tin sweetcorn and baked beans
6. ¼ bag rice with baked beans and ½ tin tomatoes
7. Left over Risotto
8. soup
Dinners- ½ pie with 1/3 tin potatoes roasted and 1/3 tin of sweetcorn,
- Chicken curry and rice
- Corned beef fritters (Can she spare 7p for a batter mix) just add water cut 1/3 of a tin of corned beef into slices, dip in the batter and fry gently on both sides serve with what is left of the tinned potatoes plus 1/3 tin sweetcorn she could use what is left of the batter to make pancakes for tomorrow's dinner
- Corned beef pancakes open pancakes out put 1/3 tin of corned beef chopped, ¼ pack cooked rice and 1/3 of a tin of peas, roll up, pour ½ tin soup over and bake in the oven for 25 mins
- Corned beef hash using mash ½ a tin of peas and 1/3 tin corned beef.
- Tuna and sweetcorn risotto using 1/4 bag of rice, a stock cube, 1/3 tin sweetcorn plus some herbs and a Tbsp lemon juice
- Pasta with ½ jar sauce mix ,½ tin kidney beans, 1/3 tin of sweetcorn
- ¼ spaghetti with remaining pasta sauce and remaining veg
If you bought her some eggs then she has the option of fried, scrambled, poached, omelette, frittata etcBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Thanks guys, I will certainly have a look at bottling it. The Mortgage Free in Three site has some good tips on "canning" too, not sure if that's an identical process?
I have another week or so of med school to go so I'm not sure if I would have time to bottle rhubarb before the Ald! offer ends. I think I'll have a go chopping and freezing it, it's only going in a crumble or pie or something anyway so I won't mind if it goes mushy.

Hi
I would stew the rhubarb before freezing, it won't take up so much space and you just defrost and add topping when you want it.0 -

I actually needed tomatoes this week, so was pleased to see them in the Super 6! Didn't need much fruit and veg this week but bought a couple of the small boxes of grapes and the Jersey Royals. My Aldi didn't have any cucumbers yesterday but didn't need one yesterday as bought one from the farm shop on Tuesday (half the price of Tesco's!).

I also noticed that they have tinned new potatoes for 14p, but my store has sold out of tinned peaches
I've used the tinned potatoes lots of times when in an emergency.
They are great to make a Bombay potato dish with or even to drain the potatoes well and then deep fry. They go really crispy skinned but fluffy inside.

I had some curry sauce in the freezer and opened a can of the new potatoes, drained them and coated them in the sauce, then I popped them on a greased baking tray baked for 15 minutes and served them with lettuce, toms, and boiled eggs, cheap and very tastyBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

My cheapest meal is
Tomato, Smoked Paprika and Lentil soup.
Incredients:-
1 onion,
1 table spoon garlic granules
2 Tablespoons basil
1 tablespoon paprika
pinch of crushed chillies (optional)
tin of chopped tomatoes, 450ml veg stock
400g lentils (red or green)
Whack your lentils on to simmer, and then fry your onion, throw in the garlic granules, and basil, paprika, chillies, and tin of tomatoes along with the veg stock, pop in your softened lentils, heat through for 15-20 mins
This batch would do for three bowlsThe opposite of what you know...is also true0
