That was a scary read.
not unexpected tho, i think in general most of us old stylers will be ok, but i would expect to see a rise in the number of "i've no money til payday what can i make from what i have in threads"
It didn't meant cereal which is bound to go up aswell, i might grab a few bags of porridge just incase.DEC GC £463.67/£450

Hi guys I have been reading your thread this morning and WOW it is so inspirational:D I have only got to page 16 though lol
I saw people were doing a shopping list so I thought I would share mine. I had already done my meal plan and the shopping. But out of fun I looked at what I could get if I had nothing in. I am lucky that I keep a very good stock cupboard and have 2 freezers which I fill with bargains so most of this I didn't buy this week. I also don't buy much value ( after seeing prices I am going to start!!)
My menu is to feed 5 people and I think it is fairly healthy please let me know what you think.

With MY shopping yesterday I went at just the right time and picked up 5 packs of kingsmill pancakes at 1p each (I can't make them for that price) and 4 packs of pittas at 2p each. Also I got a huge lot of fruit all for under £2 Like I said I had most of this in and I tend to use fresh rather than frozen vegetables but for when things get really tight (we have a very tight month next month) It was very interesting to see how I could get my shopping bill down without changing our menu.
What I didn't include in the menu plan is that I make all of my own bread, granola and for snacks we have fruit and the cake tin is always full.£370/£300 April challenge :T:T0 -
That is great sillyinthepast :T
I must say that I enjoyed working out a menu plan as well But as you say with the prices going through the roof it is a skill we should all brush up on. Not £7 probably, that is very very tight. But £20 a week is doable.Hmmmm maybe that should be the next challengeBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Never thought of that! Having a case of the brain fuzzies today but just upped my usual order for porridge. Might look into getting some more flour/yeast in too. Dust of the ol' loaf tins lol.~"I don't cook so much since we moved out of reality...."~0 -

Can you confirm this is a challenge rather than a specific menu plan for someone so should we just post out weekly shop with prices?:j0
