ok, I have been debating for a while whether to ask this... but you're all so helpful I am praying that someone will have some fantastic suggestion.... :)

Basically I volunteer for an animal rescue who rely on donations and fundraising. It's been going since 2003 and we've always done well.

However, recently donations have become less and less and things are now at a critical point :( The lady (now my friend) who owns the rescue has done all she can and I've done my best to support her with thinking of ways to raise money etc and sending her my tesco goodies :D my friend always puts the animals first and often goes without so I send these things her way, and try and donate to the rescue when I can, but it's not enough anymore and things are very bad :( quote .

How about holding a companion dog show . They are very popular . The last one I judged made £900 for charity :D . You could ask your local dog /ring craft club for help with running it . Then you could have a few stalls to raise more money .
Never pay more than you have too

Have you had any success with any of the trials yet? I've registered for 3 or 4 but not had any luck.
I did get a trial of a hand cream (can't remember what it was off the top of my head) but not had any freebies from them in well over a month. Really hoping i get the YSL mascara mini as i love it

    :) Great idea Miss Laid

Could your friend see if they can have a food collection bin in a supermarket?
The one in ours regularly has news & photos on it & is very eye catching.
Also a Facebook Profile helps (if not already done) as stories regarding the 'orphans' can be posted with photos. Our local one has great success rehoming as they post 'diaries' of the animals

    HTH ♥

We have a facebook profile but not many followers! I shall put a sneaky post on my MSE facebook later as I doubt we are allowed here!
It's so hard to keep up to date at the moment though as my friend has no internet access anymore so no way of getting up to date pictures etc.

Thanks for all the ideas everyone, I really do appreciate it, I was near tears earlier thinking there was no hope and feeling so sad for the rescue and for my friend as things are so bad for her personally as well as with the rescue, but you've given me hope and ideas! :T

So.... I was wondering, does anyone have any ideas on ways to raise some much needed cash? Or are there any secret millionaires out there that would care to sponsor us!? :rotfl:

Would love to be a secret millionaire, but unfortunatly just normal pay.

Makes me mad when people give their animals away, ok, some have very good reasons, but a lot do not. We have two dogue de bordeaux (french mastiff's) very large, slobbering dogs. We have been asked on no less than 5 different occassions if we want another one, as the person cannot cope, does not want them, too messy etc. We do not have room for another one, luckily, as if we did I would probably have said yes to all of them.

People have got to think long and hard about how this tiny, cute animal will grow into something big, mischievious, naughty adult animal, not all adult animals are well behaved (fortunately both our dogs are) but we have been lucky.

Has your friend applied to lottery, council etc for funding, they may be able to help. Wishing your friend all the best.
