Think I'm going to give the pork a go today :) can someone just confirm I have this right please? It's T finest pork loin steaks prepacked in various weights? & I have looked online & there is only 1 so hopefully won't get the wrong one
It is the T Finest extra matured pork loin STEAKS (not chops) by Charles Bowers. Price varies from £4 to £5.50 but there are 3 in a prepacked container, costing £10.99 per kg. Someone else worked it out as you get 80p back per 100g you buy. E.G buy 2 packs worth 800g, so 80p x 8 = £6.40 back from JTD. It's costing you about a quarter of the price you see on the shelf :T:T

ok, I have been debating for a while whether to ask this... but you're all so helpful I am praying that someone will have some fantastic suggestion.... :)

Basically I volunteer for an animal rescue who rely on donations and fundraising. It's been going since 2003 and we've always done well.

However, recently donations have become less and less and things are now at a critical point :( The lady (now my friend) who owns the rescue has done all she can and I've done my best to support her with thinking of ways to raise money etc and sending her my tesco goodies :D my friend always puts the animals first and often goes without so I send these things her way, and try and donate to the rescue when I can, but it's not enough anymore and things are very bad :(

So.... I was wondering, does anyone have any ideas on ways to raise some much needed cash? Or are there any secret millionaires out there that would care to sponsor us!? :rotfl:

Miss laid i have done the click and collect thing my bill came to34p for a few items i paid and checked out but then when i looked at my bank online they have taken £2.00 out of my account instead of 34p have you checked your account have they took the correct amount out of yours
Miss Laid's ideas were good... aim to you get whatever you can for free, speak to T / A / S about donating animal food? speak to the local press to run a feature on the plight of the animal shelter etc.

Would love to be a secret millionaire, but unfortunatly just normal pay.

Makes me mad when people give their animals away, ok, some have very good reasons, but a lot do not. We have two dogue de bordeaux (french mastiff's) very large, slobbering dogs. We have been asked on no less than 5 different occassions if we want another one, as the person cannot cope, does not want them, too messy etc. We do not have room for another one, luckily, as if we did I would probably have said yes to all of them.

People have got to think long and hard about how this tiny, cute animal will grow into something big, mischievious, naughty adult animal, not all adult animals are well behaved (fortunately both our dogs are) but we have been lucky.

Has your friend applied to lottery, council etc for funding, they may be able to help. Wishing your friend all the best.

Ah the excuses I have heard over the years, it's unbelieveable! I understand that sometimes there are genuine reasons.

I have been on the phone today regarding lottery funding, but apparently it has to benefit the wider community . And as it would benefit the animals we aren't entitled to it :(

Chance would be a fine thing. Problem is my local only stocks the normal ones. have been over the meat shelves two or three times now.

Hi archiequeenie I too have mastiffs and I have a personal dog trainer that I met thru word of mouth as he was looking for a stud for his mastiff and I can honestly say how can people give up on them they may drive me to distraction sometimes withtheir stubborness and naughtiness but they truly do love you unconditionally and you do get used to the drool eventually lol x

So that every single post that I contribute to this thread is on topic I would just like to say I am an elite 11+ member and I hear the unjust silence of my opinions whilst I am shopping in supermarkets mainly. Just sayin.
