ok, I have been debating for a while whether to ask this... but you're all so helpful I am praying that someone will have some fantastic suggestion....
Basically I volunteer for an animal rescue who rely on donations and fundraising. It's been going since 2003 and we've always done well.
However, recently donations have become less and less and things are now at a critical pointThe lady (now my friend) who owns the rescue has done all she can and I've done my best to support her with thinking of ways to raise money etc and sending her my tesco goodies
my friend always puts the animals first and often goes without so I send these things her way, and try and donate to the rescue when I can, but it's not enough anymore and things are very bad
So.... I was wondering, does anyone have any ideas on ways to raise some much needed cash? Or are there any secret millionaires out there that would care to sponsor us!? :rotfl:
Perhaps if anyones APG's are headed for the recycle bin, they could maybe be redirected? I would be happy to send a couple over but it wouldnt be much as I dont have many

Start off doing a carboot sale often the organiser will wavier the pitch cost for a charity, have donation buckets as well as selling stuff, maybe have 1 or 2 of the animals there too, also give out leaflets explaining what you do, it may not bring in a fortune but you may well get a few hundred and raise awareness
Ask on freecycle for bootsale items explaining what you are doing
Brilliant suggestions! :T
Also some Tesco's have a big black bin in the foyer for local animal charities where people can chuck in pet foods. They seem well supported too when I've seen them and often have plenty of food in them.0 -
Miss laid i have done the click and collect thing my bill came to34p for a few items i paid and checked out but then when i looked at my bank online they have taken £2.00 out of my account instead of 34p have you checked your account have they took the correct amount out of yours
Have you ordered online with T's before as they do a test payment as £2.00 isnt the cost of the items you have ordered.0 -
Ah no i havent ordered before it will be that then thanx for clearing that up.0

Ahh damn quote button has broken!
Thanks Miss Laid -great idea, we've done car boots but never thought to have the donation buckets out
And Thank you QOC and FK.
Think we'd struggle with the bins in Mr T's though as at the moment all we have in our care our horses/ponies!And usually for that kind of thing you have to be a registered charity.
Now, if only I had a stash like that super stasher person from the DTD days I'd be bloody well sorted for a car boot! :rotfl:
ETA, well we do have the permanent residence that are the few cats, one dog and rabbit, ooh and a pigeon who refuses to leave!0 -

Could your friend see if they can have a food collection bin in a supermarket?
The one in ours regularly has news & photos on it & is very eye catching.
Also a Facebook Profile helps (if not already done) as stories regarding the 'orphans' can be posted with photos. Our local one has great success rehoming as they post 'diaries' of the animals

Hi Everybody
Called into Asda on my home and found the Fabric conditioner priced at 38 pence so I think it is every store. My store also had Comfort at 50 pence a bottle as well.
