Samsung Galaxy Overheating

Has anyone else found their Galaxy phones get extremely hot - especially around the camera lens area ?
My 2 month old Galaxy Note does - I have emailed Samsung Support UK for advice
There is a mention of overheating on the US website, but no mention on the UK site - which, to me looks like a "head in the sand" problem
I think that this is going to be an on-going issue with mobile phones as they get closer and closer to PC's with their abilities - a processor is GOING to generate heat and with the (obvious) lack of cooling - fires, caused by mobile phones are going to become widespread !!

You may find the wif fi or gps is stuck on, although the screen displays otherwise, remove the battery and re power, see if that helps?

I have tried this - but no difference
If you google "SAMSUNG GALAXY OVERHEATING" - there appears to be a general problem - it also appears on the samsung US website - but, typically - not on the UK website !!

Every smartphone I've owned has heated up somewhere durIng a lot of use or charging. Non of them have caught fire. I'm guessing phone companies are aware phones heat up and parts will be able to withstand the temps otherwise everybodies phone would be on fire. The s3 heats up a little but nowhere near the temps of the s2 and the heat is near the bottom instead of around the camera.

I know I had a spell of my Ray getting very warm, and I suspected it was the wifi or gps not disconnecting, plus the batery drain was quite diminshed, after a stop all apps andreset, all was fine again, , maybe worth visiting a dedicated samsung mobile forum?

No point the phones heat up. It's not even an issue it's just the way they are. Changing this setting and that setting may make a little difference but the phone will still heat up.

Round the camera area seems to be where excess heat shows .
Multiple users ask why is my phone xxx hot and its not an actual problem .
Quad core CPU without cooling fan bound to get hot .
Likewise for any modern lower CPU .

Excess heat burning your fingers is rather different to phone is hot .

The Galaxy range is known to get hot some time very hot, not to the point where you can burn yourself. In the USA it is much harder for companies to hide the problem then in the uk so Samsung need to be up front with its USA customers. This is due to no heat protection on the back covers.
I think like computer CPU the Galaxy also slow down when hot.

    Just ignore them..

The good news is like I said with the S3 the phone heats up nowhere near as much as the S2 and note so the are obviously trying to improve on the heating. The heat also never caused any performance issues with my S2 as Goodman states though he 'think's so basically hasn't a clue.

He has some clue as he mentioned he is running an S3, not sure which android he had before that, he rarely mentions his iphone though, which I know they don't over heat as the RF head struggles to hold onto a call on the IP4 :o
