Budget well and truly blown
I put this sown to summer holidays, also the fact that we've been on at least 20 picnic this month, lol, and also the fact the my biggest 2 are going back to live with their mum on Monday so we've been doing lots of family things this last month, which has incured lots of spends, fun trips to the zoo, forest and yesterday was the cinema, they rinsed me dry, but worth it to see them having fun.
£543.07 is really bad.
I'm off to join September. See you on the other side.
Katy, XJune £0.00 GC / £200.00Family of 4 : 1 adult 3 kids ages 3,4 & 5.0 -
Hi, I'd like to join the GC please. Payday was yesterday so joining at the end of the month! We are 2 adults and 3 children age 6 and under (who don't seem to eat a huge amount!). Our online shop is about £75 (inc delivery) a week, which I don't think is too bad (am happy to get it under though). There's also £34 a month fruit bag from a local scheme. BUT we also top up quite a lot during the week, which I haven't been keeping track of. So although I have in my head a monthly budget/spend of £334, realistically it will be quite a bit higher.
(edit: oops, will post this in September's thread!)Go to the ant, thou sluggard0 -
Hi everyone, just like to report a spend of £14, not sure if it will bring me over budget or not - maybe slightly, but i NEED teabags and am also contemplating getting the lidl deal for cheese (if they still have it), so will be more, but other than that, we have everything we need in.
billiejo - thanks for the cauliflour recipe, sounds like my kind of recipe.
pajama - like someone else said, there is no fail, looks like a good month to me
mummyof5 - im in YS envy - sounds like some amazing bargains
caterina - you sound like you've done much better than me on your allotment - ive only got beans, tomatoes and leeks broccoli growing on mine at the mo - your inspiring me to put in a load of winter ones
NickJW - lol, that sounds like my cauliflour cheese, with 5p/10p packs of cheese sauce mix from AF - tastes quite nice for the price though im sure there are much nicer recipes on the front page (lol)0 -
as tesc0 are doing the 5p off a litre with a £50 spend again we deicded to so a stock up shop today so I'll update my signature later when I find the receipt but it was in the region of £59 I think, ugh. ah well got a lot of stuff for the freezer and the pantry and have all meals planned for the week ahead too.Blah0

Just veg brought today and a newspaper total £8.63 to add. I know my figures in my signature are looking good BUT I joined the challenge almost half way through the month yet still gave myself a full months allowance, so they are not a true representation. However seen as its first month back for 12months am using this month as a trial and hope to get it right next month.:D
Brought some celery a couple of days ago on offer at 50p per pack and its really tough so off to make some celery soup now to use it up - waste not want not. I make soup out of anything if its getting past its best and we have in the past had some odd but delicious concoctions.

Some things have greater value than money and I think your priorities are bang on considering what is ahead on Monday :T:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A
Grocery Spend Weekly Challenge (Sat-Fri):£30.50/£400 -
My grocery challenge this week is completely confused total wise as I have receipts everywhere which have value but I cannot print off the vouchers. Cos I can't redeem em, I don't know where I'm at.
I declare this week to have gone over budget but next week will be a no spend week technically as I hopefully will be able to redeem the outstanding credit on the receipts with APGs and PPs. It will even out I guess.
The library was 10p per black and white print out. If push comes to shove, I will use them but they are closed over the BH:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

I think thats the end of the month for me! Not sure exactly where month ends as I buy most stuff on credit card but we get paid at beginning of month! Anyway not as bad as I thought - 13.37 over, but I'm going to increase amount to £460 next month to include the extra shopping for childminded children, and then reduce from that amount.
See you all on the sept thread!Oct grocery budget £368.40 / 6000 -
Done a bits and pieces shop today - not a real food shop but needed some household things like cleaning stuff and toilet roll. Managed to spend just over £20 but that did include 3 quorn products for £5 which will last me ages (bags of meatballs, mince and sausages).
As of Saturday I'll be on the Sept thread - hopefully no more spending this week apart from kitchen roll (which was the reason to go to Mr T's in the first place:o) and milk.0
