No grocery spends today but did go out for lunch with a friend, then bouldering with another friend as I was off work
Had vegetable chilli with rice, a sprinkling of cheese and some Greek yoghurt for dinner and made lentil & veg soup for lunches. Have a lot of frozen bread so didn't bother making my usual loaf for the freezer as I was feeling too lazy anyway!Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Logging more spending!
£51 tesCo ( plus £10 second purse spending)
49p milk corner shop
Cooking marg and eggs £2.30
V ripe bananas 2.5kg 70p
Also spent £12 on childminding bits and other stuff (3 lunch bags at 38p each and stainless steel water bottle for 75p)
Made 3 banana cakes last night but managed to completely burn them! I thought 200 degrees for 1.30hrs sounded wrong but oh well should have followed my instinct and cooked at much lower temp. Managed to cut off most of the burnt bit and cake is lovely inside. Still got enough bananas etc to make 3 batches of banana muffins tomorrow so all is not lost! 50p per batch of muffins (or per burnt cake!).Oct grocery budget £368.40 / 6000 -

No reporting for me yet as I'm starting with the September thread but I am training myself between now and then, including a decent explore of Lidl.
£3.79 for 1kg of really nice mild cheddar this morning. Lidl - where have you been all my life??
Does anyone find anything specifically fabulous at Lidl that I might have overlooked that is worth a try?MSE-ing since 20070 -

Hi guys.
A while ago i saw some people on here talking about this book:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Whole-Family-Healthy-Balanced-Little/dp/1905862156/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1345547479&sr=8-2
Well i have been doing some digging around and have found the same book, for free! Its an e-book. Here is the link, and i hope some of you find it helpful. I have wanted the book for ages, but was trying to find it as cheap as possible- you cant get much cheaper than free!

Oh Dear and Oh Dear again.......................
Well Budgie is well over budget so far this monthI just can't believe how much that I have spent.
In my defence if there is one, everything went topsy turvy when Dad was rushed into hospital he was in a week so you know what thats like!
Then Budgie has been poorly.
Also 2 very much welcome visits from my adorable Ds this month too. But obviously alot more spent.
In a nutshell I am going to have to declare this month nul and void.
I need to get this under control so will be joining you and hopefully posting alot more on the September challenge. Its just been one of those months, so I need to be more organised and alot more Frugal in September.
From the experienced members did you have the same teething problems? I guess with everything else its a learning curve and nothing worthwhile happens immediately.
So I'm picking myself up and dusting myself down for September, my fly lady challenge has also been a non starter.
If I was giving myself a mark on a Mse report it would be a big F for Failure.
Hoping for an E next month for at least Effort.
Take Care everyone
Budgie xxxCherish the ones you love and travel back on the road that brings you home
