A buyer trying it on

Has the customer commented on the tracking you've provided? If they are just sending messages saying 'not arrived' just keep replying back with the tracking.
If/when they comment on the tracking ask them to check with other household members and their neighbours, if no joy you'll have to contact Parcelforce and see what their procedure is for this situation. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
Thanks for the replies. Yes I've provided tracking information and she just keeps saying she hasn't received it. I'm assuming she has viewed it. It's hard to communicate with the buyer as they don't speak very good English.

Keep communicating with them.
I know it's a bit frustrating, but although you could win a dispute, misdeliveries do happen and stonewalling them won't calm them down."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

I got done by a buyer on some birkenstocks I sold. 2 rating and I lost the case as I hadn't ebayed for a bit and forgot about the scammers so didn't do it recorded. I hope this is a misunderstanding as ebay is brilliant for making some money out of stuff lying around the house, but when people misuse it, it is a bloody nightmare. I was furious. Some people are just horrid!0

You have no proof they were scamming you, if something genuinely doesn't arrive - and it's happened to me increasingly regularly, both delays and non-delivery of something I paid for - then the buyer is entitled to their money back. If you didn't receive something then you would feel similarly, I'm sure.
Don't forget there are two parties to every transaction. The buyer is the one giving you money for something you send out. Yes, eBay is great for sellers but it's also a risk. You can always claim from RM with a proof of posting, so there's no need to always send recorded - in fact it has problems at the other end for the buyer who needs to go and collect something that could otherwise be delivered direct, and at that point I'd just go and buy it in a normal shop. It pushes the price up and buyers are very conscious of postage cost.
In Owlie's case it's frustrating because she has tracking. If she didn't have tracking she would have to refund. On the balance of probabilities, the item possibly has been misdelivered - as I said above, the real scammers target people who send out untracked, so either it is a very foolish opportunist or a genuine case of RD going wrong.
Because of the 10-day delay I'm still inclined towards the latter."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

give parcel force a ring, they may talk to the driver and if he is the regual driver he may remember the delivery.
If you refund them you will not be able to claim from parcelforce or ebay as the parcel has been signed for, so check with them first.0 -
I am having the same problem with a buyer who claims a huge 10kg parcel hasn't been delivered despite tracking showing 'delivered to customer' 4 weeks ago. It just seems a bit odd that they have waited over 4 weeks to contact me regarding this. Buyer speaks very poor English and just sending short messages like 'not received item' 'so courier signed for it?' I have replied with tracking number which shows 'delivered to customer' on date/time.
Not sure what would happen if the buyer was to open a paypal/ebay dispute since I have the tracking number and the parcel was tracked all the journey and showing delivered to customer?A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -

As above you will almost certainly win a paypal/ebay dispute. If however item is over £150 you would need a signature to win dispute though and not just proof of delivery (thought I ought to mention that)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Item was only £30 but due to weight was sent via Collect+
The tracking states delivered to customer On ... At .... but I can't view a signature.
I've never had any problems with buyers claiming tracked items haven't been received despite showing delivered to customer so this is a first. I have also never known a buyer wait over 4 - 5 weeks to contact the seller regarding an undelivered item (usually 2 weeks at the most). I will contact Courier to see if they have any information as to where it was delivered and who signed for it.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -

I'd say that the item was definitely delivered on <date> by someone with the same name, so perhaps she should check with her household and neighbours, and if they' don't have it, then perhaps she should contact her local police station to report the theft of a parcel.
If the postie delivered it to the wrong address to someone she doesn't know, then it is highly unlikely they'd be able to sign with her name! (so chances are, it's someone she knows...)Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
