I totally agree about Audi drivers. I think that in recent years (last 6 or so) their cars seem to come up more on certain company car lists and the interiors are a nice place to be (compared with BM's, which are definitely not bad either!) This makes them driven by sales reps and the like - people who drive a lot so think they know it all.
Though I like to think I buck the trend. I drive and Audi, (an older one) relatively sensibly.LBM - 11/08
DMP - 12/08 - £37,255
DFD - [STRIKE]03[/STRIKE] 02/13 - [STRIKE]£6,454[/STRIKE] £3916 to go! (Unless my PPI & FOS claims are upheld, then it'll be earlier!)0 -
I hadn't realised he was acting.
Seriously?
Clarkson has very carefully turned himself into a caricature so he can play the leading part in his TV show, "The Jeremy Clarkson Comedy Hour", sometimes called "Top Gear", and he is doing quite well, financially, out of playing that role.
Of course since it's a character he has invented the BBC don't get copyright on that character so he can continue to play the role on the DVDs he releases every Christmas and in his written works.
You don't seriously believe that throughout his lifetime of car ownership, even as a youth who can't afford to have the garage do everything, he only ever fixed them with a hammer do you?
It's just a role he acts, and he becomes a lot more tolerable when you realise this. It's kind of like watching Alf Garnett.0 -

It's also worth watching some of the non-motoring stuff he does.
The whole reason he got nominated for that honorary engineering degree was for the time he'd taken to raise awareness of the work of Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Someone who only knows how to use a hammer (incorrectly) is hardly likely to be knowledgeable of Brunel's work.
He just happens to be most well known for playing the role of a fat middle aged conservative idiot who rants about cars.
(James May is the best character on Top Gear anyway)0 -
Apologies to the Audi drivers who do say thank you after being let out, but I've stopped letting Audi's out as the vast vast majority do not acknowledge it0

Still, Clarkson gets paid £3 million a year, so he must be doing something right.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

I naturally didn't bother to use my indicators as other drivers are supposed to automatically recognise my authority on my motorway and while I thrash the engine, I fail to see the point of wearing out a bulb and replacing it.
The driver of the car behind me did realise his mistake though and honked an apology to me with a long blast of his horn.
Just thought I'd fill in the missing detail0
