Oh, absolutely. Multiple advisors confirmed that it had been cancelled but it still remains on my account, for some reason.
When I called this morning, I spoke to three different people who acknoweldeged that I had actually cancelled it. The last person I spoke to said I had to put throu to a specific department.. asked me to hold... then I was cut off0 -

You was on some contract, then 'upgraded' to simplicity and cancelled the upgrade within 7 days. This shouldn't have triggered the ETC and should have reverted you to the original contract. Later you terminated the original contract by porting the number out and should have paid only for 30 days after getting the PAC.0 -
No doubt is was cancelled. The problem is how it was cancelled. And this is unclear.

Right, my 24 month iPhone 4 contract ended in August 2012. Yippee, finally free. I called up to cancel my account, lady alluded me with their SIMplicity deal. When it became apparent it was a 12-month sentence, I immediately called up and cancelled (within the cooling off period).
Really polite, helpful telephone advisors who must have LIED to me(!)
I'm always super calm and polite on the phone. I thought the problem was solved when the most recent telephone advisor put me on hold, but it then cut off. I hoped they might call back; didn't happen.
I don't understand why 202 doesn't work on my giff gaff phone, since placing the call a few hours ago. (confused that it worked at all, would have thought the giff gaff MVNO would block it)0 -
For any future readers who might see this:
o2 fixed the problem - they credited £180 to my acccount. It was annoying in the sense that it took several phone calls, I one each call I had to parrot the story to like, three different people.
But they were polite and apologetic.0
