    Hi guys

I will get in touch with MoneySupermarket about this and find out what happened.

Thanks for offering to help with the problem that I and others encountered in accessing this offer last week. Assume you will pm if you have any further information?

I've just phoned MoneySupermarket now and although I didn't get a confirmation email (definitely not filtered into spam as companies always suggest) my application has gone through. So that's all the info I have.

Be interested to hear why others had issues last week.

I never received email confirmation, let me know what you find. I'll phone Monday.

I've never been a fan of MoneySupermarket as their prices are extortionate compared to the other comparison sites as they have huge overheads, plus they hammer you with marketing spam.

But this deal was pretty good, so if it works great, if not I won't touch MoneySupermarket again.

I emailed moneysupermarket about this. They emailed me to say that my application had gone through but they failed to answer why they didn't send a confirmation email.

I emailed them back and asked. They said that their system did send an email, no it didn't!, and said that they couldn't resend it because it's automagically sent.

I did, just after, receive an email from SP with an account login that shows how everything is progressing.

Therefore, hopefully, you might receive that as well.

I didn't receive an email either after signing up.
  • I've been paid £17.50 cashback today from MoneySupermarket.com for this Scottish Power deal (electricity only), anyone else been underpaid?

    £37.50 / 2 = £18.75 on my calc.
  • I have today received notice from Southern Electric that they are starting Standing Charges ( I am on the London Kent Border ) - I thought they were part of Scottish Power so does Scot.Power have Standing Charges and if not why is it starting Charges on Southern Electric Quarterly - Dont have Card Meters so dont know if it has been on them previously.

    Can anybody explain.

Anyway - who is this "average user" ?
We spend about £45 per month dual fuel (Scottish Power), we don't scrimp on heating and live in a large 3 bed semi....
Thats less than £550 per year - how can anyone spend twice this amount ?
Do they run their central heating 24/7/52 or leave their ovens on to heat the kitchen ?

Ours is £144 a month for a modest Victorian 3 bed ex-semi (they built flats so close to us we're terraced now!). We have the water on twice a day for an hour in the morning and for an hour before bedtime, so we can take baths, the heating isn't on at all just now, but in the winter we'll likely run it all day and all night on the very coldest nights, or we just can't get up because it's so cold. I totally hibernate once the temp gets below a certain level, bad news missing work because you were asleep :( I wish ours was £45. I wish we had double glazing and carpets too!

  • Just received £30 in my bank acct from money supermarket, very prompt but it should have been £70.
