As a customer of Scottish Power I could be interested in this tariff but it does not appear to be available to existing customers. Are some tariffs only available to new customers?

Its on Scottish powers site below
    http://www.scottishpower.co.uk/products/online-fixed-price-energy.aspx

Does not say anything about new/existing customers that i can see, best bet is to give them a call.

The Scottish Power Online Fixed Price Energy November 2013 is a £93 increase for me. The £70 Cashback is interesting, but as I will pay £30 exit penalty if I switch before September, and start paying the higher rate earlier, it cancels out most of the £70 cashback.

Just tried to get the £70 cashback and have found that its not possible to apply via the website.

If i select 'view tariffs which can be booked via moneysupermarket' scottish power does not appear in the results, if i select 'all tariffs on the market' i can see the scottish power tariff but the applynow button is shaded out. Helpfully just under the unclickable button it says 'Special £70 cashback exclusive'

Special moneysaving expert cashback offer which can only be bought via a website which is refusing to allow the offer to be selected.

    Joke

I have the same problem as regprentice because the apply now button is blanked out even through there is a reference to the £70 cashback. I have also checked my cookies. Grrrr:mad:

Exactly the same problem here. Tried it through FireFox and IE with cookie options set to most lenient. Still no joy. Quite disappointed to have missed this.

MSE bods, any ideas on what's stopping this?

Works fine in Chrome guys. Best to clear history first.

Thanks Dave for your earlier response.

Oh well. Just ran the figures and it's slightly more expensive than EDF blue price promise based on my usage.

Taking into account the £70 switch bonus would make it worthwhile but there's not much in it and I'd be relying on the cashback being paid which probably isn't a wise thing to do!

Anyway - who is this "average user" ?
We spend about £45 per month dual fuel (Scottish Power), we don't scrimp on heating and live in a large 3 bed semi....
Thats less than £550 per year - how can anyone spend twice this amount ?
Do they run their central heating 24/7/52 or leave their ovens on to heat the kitchen ?

Best check you are not due a 'catch up' bill ;)

Have now tried using Google Chrome having first cleared the history. Still will not let me apply.

I have to answer No to the question
"Only see products available through moneysupermarket.com?"

If I answer Yes to that question, the page will not even show Scottish Power options.

    Really frustrating

Yes, folks. That's a massive saving of £2 off from £1054.

It would appear that price wars are based on flimsy evidence just as as real ones are.

you are saving nothing its purley a small reduction that your bill has gone up by 40-60 % in the last 3-4 years not to mention the 19% increase last january ,
