Anyway - who is this "average user" ?
We spend about £45 per month dual fuel (Scottish Power), we don't scrimp on heating and live in a large 3 bed semi....
Thats less than £550 per year - how can anyone spend twice this amount ?
Do they run their central heating 24/7/52 or leave their ovens on to heat the kitchen ?

you must be spending alot on battries !

Scottish Power and probably other suppliers cannot take on customers with two meters (at same property but linked). Only E.On and one other offer this. Who is the other please?
    Ray

All suppliers have had these for years as they have been around for years prior to privatisation.

Is it a specific type of meter like E10, Heatwise, Warmwise, etc.

  • Just tried to get the £70 cashback and have found that its not possible to apply via the website.

If i select 'view tariffs which can be booked via moneysupermarket' scottish power does not appear in the results, if i select 'all tariffs on the market' i can see the scottish power tariff but the applynow button is shaded out. Helpfully just under the unclickable button it says 'Special £70 cashback exclusive'

Special moneysaving expert cashback offer which can only be bought via a website which is refusing to allow the offer to be selected.

    Joke

    Hi guys

I will get in touch with MoneySupermarket about this and find out what happened.

I applied and it said that it was all done but I have not even receive an email confirmation. :(

I cannot see any way to check it because I cannot see a login for the password that it asked for when I signed up.

This doesn't inspire any confidence in the £70 Cashback ever arriving. I'm not impressed so far. An email doesn't seem like too much to expect.

Ok might sound daft but have you checked your spam mail? I've gone mad before now about email confirmations not arriving and found them in my spam the next day. Apologies if you've already checked.

Yes, I have checked my Spam folder and it's empty.

Has anyone received a confirmation email when signing up?

Why would the utility companies get involved in a price war? They are doing very nicely jacking up prices or waiting to see how much the others put them up before doing so likewise.
Just remember the excuse they always employ after an increase - 'we remain very competitive'.
I do not expect to see significant price cuts ever.

Yes, I applied on Wednesday and received a confirmation e mail from Moneysupermarket, saying they'd sent the application to Scottish Power.

Thanks, I will have to chase it up to find out why I have not received one.

I never received email confirmation, let me know what you find. I'll phone Monday.

I've never been a fan of MoneySupermarket as their prices are extortionate compared to the other comparison sites as they have huge overheads, plus they hammer you with marketing spam.

But this deal was pretty good, so if it works great, if not I won't touch MoneySupermarket again.
