I'm loving reading these success stories! Itching to get started now. Think i'll stick around here if that's ok with you guys! Well done everybody!!! :j
    Still to go: 24lbs

  • Hi everyone! Just reading through all the posts, welcome to all the newbies!
Maz, I find your running account brilliant, I'd like to do it and have printed off your 'plan' to help me. Thanks.
Had my weigh in last night - another 6lbs gone! 2st 5lbs in all after 6 weeks, I'm pretty pleased. About 2 st to go.
Duncan, of course we are all 21 and gorgeous! Like you, I don't know where the last 20 years have gone, but they've been such fun. I'd like life to go so slowly now. It's as if I'm sitting on a mountain, looking down one side seeing my life up until now and peering down the other at the rest of it - and there doesn't seem long enough left -my father died a few years ago and my mother has become very frail and needs me to care for her. Mind you, I'd have made a better job of things when young if I'd known what I now now! Who said 'Youth is wasted on the young?'
So.....on with all the things I'd like to do - there's no time to put them off any longer! I started this diet to feel better, losing weight is a great by- product and I do feel well - much fewer aches and pains and I'm developing a much more sensible view of food.
Sorry, gone on a bit here! :silenced:

Hi everyone and welcome to all the newbies.

Donna, Welshcake, Poggy and Church mouse well done on the losses. Everyone seems to be doing so well at the moment.

100% ss for me today. Still not managing to "go" properly but have ordered some physillium husks which are supposed to help. Hopefully they'll be here tomorrow.

    Are revolting imho :D

we have been bad this week but have found a CC closer to home so trying to get back into the swing of things, feeling very demotivated and it must be because it the time of the month.

Got to get through the next few days and hopefully it will get easier :p
If you dont know where you are going... Any road will take you there :rotfl:
  • Hi All - but particularly to Mrs T .....I was doing the CD a few weeks ago and was doing sooo well but it was ruined by the fact that I was unable to go to the loo for over 10 days and was in so much pain I had to stop.
I am now back to normal !!!!! (ish) and I have over a weeks supply of the CD in a carrier bag in my dining room waiting to be cosumed, - as suggested I have been out and bought physillium husk and I have been taking them for 2 weeks now but am still quite anxiuos about starting the diet once again.
I am just interested to know if anyone else has experienced the same type of problems???

Caroline I've been having some toilet problems but mine isn't daily its just sometimes.
I haven't took anything yet though as i don't want to be running the loo all the time ha ha am just baring the pain, if it does get worse i will do though.
I'm losing motivation also and recently i've been getting really hungry am on week 6 and starving sometimes, i don't know if it could be boredom the fact that im off college for two weeks for Easter or it's genuine.
I did have a can of tuna today to fill me up but still feeling hungry after my shakes.
My mum even tried to offer me spaghetti bolanaise before and i refused
i am determent but I'm dying for a pizza hut ha ha xx

Isn't constipation a pain in the bum. LOL!!!

I was diagnosed with IBS after the birth of my ds in June. I'd never had any problems prior to this. I've taken buscopan, movicol, lactulose, max strength laxatives, fibersure and glycerin suppositories, none of which really seem to help. I also drink peppermint tea and plenty of water.

Tbh i think it just takes time to sort itself out (for me anyway.) I've been suffering now for about the past 2 weeks so hopefully it'll pass soon. Im on week 6 of cd and really dont want to quit now as i still have about 2.5 stone to lose.

Churchmouse, you are so right in what you say, the time goes so quickly and sometimes you just want it to slow down a little.

I have a terrible habit of wishing my life away, usually around holidays, I like to have my holiday booked early and will count down to it, its 14weeks and 6days to go!!
Even on the diet I have made a chart and come in to work everymorning and cross off each successful day and work out how long to go for each chunk I have set myself.

I think hitting 40 has made me think more about where I am up to and where I would like to be, and the diet is part of that, I've become very lazy, complaining about my aches and pains and lacking any real motivation. My weight really contributes to a lot of that and I really want to move on now. My DD has left home and my DS is 10 now and becoming much more self sufficient so I can get on with doing more, (apart from fitting in in around running him around).

I am on day 12 now, and feeling wonderful, I don't feel that my clothes have gone much looser, but I don't feel quite as "lumpy" if that makes sense to anyone.
To keep busy I have been working in the garden and have now realised that it needs a total overhaul. I don't have money to spend on a landscaper so have decided to have a go myself. It can't be that hard if so many others can do it! I suppose this means I am chasing another goal now, but I am not timing myself on this one, there is a lot to do.

I am sorry ladies, I don't have any advice on the toilet problems, I have been everyday, the only thing I would say is that you shouldn't hang on to it when you get the urge, even in a public toilet with people listening, just let it all go.
My husband has diverticulitus and is taking a fybergel every day to try and avoid any toilet problems.

Faye - try hard not to sabatage yourself, when I do something, a diet, stop smoking, for a period of time, I go along feeling great, then suddenly hit temptation.
Then I convince myself that, what the heck, I've done this for 3 weeks, I'll just have one, then I can go back to it, and I am sure you can fill in the rest of the story.

Tell us what you are really looking forward to when you are slim.
I am looking forward to being able to buy long boots and zipping them up.
Maz is looking forward to being able to run soo much better.
Let us know what you really want to do and tell yourself even more - and well done on turning down the spagetti, its not like you will never have it again, you just need to wait a while.

    morning fellow CD-ers!!

    Hope everyone is doing alright...

Mrs T - hope everything sorts itself out soon...

I'm finding the fibre 69 isworking for me as a keeping things moving but i did have to take sennakot to get it to budge at first....

again, i don't "go" every day though, just sometimes....
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....
