welcome Gstar! and well done mercury on your loss...!

It's true what sammy say about putting your losses into perspective, it could take a month to lose those kinda amounts on WW or SW! She does talk sense that sammy one, especially when she's not eating chips!! :p

i think you hope for more in week 1 cause it is such a great big lifestyle change and the first few days feel so bleugh!

i am due to get weighed tomorrow, TOTM is still on the go, so scales at home are not showing as much of a downward trend as last week.... in anycase they bore no resemblence to CDC's scales on thursday night anyways.....!

i will be gutted with as little as a 3lb loss this week, anything over 3lbs will be alright with me...... does that make me seem ungrateful!?
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

The average loss is 3 - 4 lbs per week. Personally I would not be disappointed with 3 as what you are losing is fat via process of Ketosis. Some weeks, you may lose a pound or two, and others your body will catch up, but it does balance out to the average stone per calendar month :D

i know you're right Vihan... and any loss is a good thing right....

i think everyone had a little inward reflection that looks for max results... human nature i guess...!

i've not came out of ketosis at all, as am a bit of a ketostix junkie at the moment, so hope that ketosis has worked well!

  • Ok - so i'm not a big posting person at all, however I am finding the cambridge diet so good i thought i'd join in with you all after reading through all the threads.

I had my third weigh in last night (2 1/2 weeks since my initial consultation) and i've lost 9 and 1/2lbs, 2" from each thigh, 2" from my waist, 2" from my hips, 1/2" from my arms (which is about right as i haven't got that much to get rid of on them!) and 2" from my bust (gutted!! :p ).

I've just started exercising this week - and only really low impact, as i am not an exercisor at all!! So getting into it slowly! I don't find i'm hungry at all, as long as i drink my water, or black coffee. I am a single girl that has such a busy life through work and social that this diet, in terms of convenience, has worked really well for me so far.

I admit i haven't been completley well behaved and have strayed on a couple of things but i have always got back on the CD wagon. One great thing i've found is buying a shaker (thankfully i stole my mum's who had a herbal life one from an old diet she did) it makes it so much quicker and easier in the mornings and at work for me. Then if i want to have a soup i just take a mini-whisk to work with me instead.

Good luck to you all and it's great reading everyone's posts, i think its quite motivational knowing others are going through the same thing at the same time!!

    2 stone to go!!!
  • Not upset with 9lb, in fact in hindsight i'm pleased. Week 2 will be the real test though, to see how much i'll lose. Looking forward to week 3 so i can chew something!!! Peanuts and chocolate sound nice, real nice

Weird week for me this one... it's my second week on the diet. Had that enormous loss of 16 pounds last week and was preparing myself for around half a stone this week. However, I don't actually feel like I've lost a thing. I don't feel any different :(

Stole a tiny piece of toffee cake last night, but it really was only a fraction... I'm hoping that hasn't screwed me in some way.

Gilzor, if I had a penny for everyone who came to me and said they didn't think they had lost weight I could give up being a CDC!! :D

Very often, people are surprised, and on the second week, inch loss shows. I have a man on the diet in your postition and when he lost little weight, his trousers started to fall down :D

I feel exactly the same going into my 2nd weigh in tonight Gilzor... (without the cake, obviously) Sure it won't have screwed you up, plenty water to wash it out anyways.... that's why i love ketostix as i like reassurance that any nibbling doesn't chuck me out of ketosis..

that said i am trying to keep my nibbling to a bare minimum.... as i'm only cheating myself.

Have placed my order in advance for my meals for tonight, am going down to 3 a day (4 on running days maybe) but not adding a meal yet as i'm coping without it and i have a long way to go yet..... i have ordered a fair few tetras and 7 bars (mixed)... i'm ditching the soups as cannot fathom them out, have ditched the porrige already as me no likie.... shakes are okay as long as done with ice in the smoothie maker, even those when done at work kinda make me heave!

Aerolatte whisk thing is okay, but not brill for lumps.......

  • Sounds like all of you are doing great, well done.

At my 3rd weigh in on Monday I only lost 1/2 pound - I was gutted until I got my measurements - in one week I lost 1" of my bust, waist & thighs & 2.5 inches from my hips! My CDC said my low loss was probably due to coming on. However, still happy with a loss of 8.5lbs in 3 weeks. Got another 2.5 stone to go tho...

Haven't cheated once and I am so proud of myself, especially as my life seems to resemble a soap-opera at the moment with constant drama. My normal habits would be to turn to food & alcohol for comfort but I have resisted.

Have started walking at lunch time with a friend from work and hope that this helps some, although a friend told me this might induce water retention - anyone know anything about that?
