Just sounds as though you have hit a plateau
Have you measured yourself to see if you have lost inches?0 -
What exactly is the Cambridge Diet?
Do you pay money each week for special soups and eat only them? What's in them? Do you get an appetite surpressant? Or does what's in the soup stop you craving?
I want to go swimming, gym etc to help me lose weight but won't go while I'm fat (I know I would lose weight if i went but I'm too embarrassed!), I need something to help me drastically lose weight fast to start me off and this sounds like the thing!
Where do i get it? Do you have to really force yourself to eat the soups and stay away from everything else?If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in0 -
The cambridge diet soups/shakes have all your daily nutrients in them.
Because of the low carb content, your body goes into a process called ketosis which is a natural appetite suppressant.
If you go on the Cambridge website then they have a list of Counsellors - you get the Diet through a Counsellor.
Good luck0 -

Yep, I've been stuck at 30 inches for months now, my only motivation has been seeing the lbs drop off and they've stopped doing that now!
I'm going to do 100% on 1000 for a week and see if I can get back down to 10 stone, if not then I'll probably move up the plans and join WW.0 -

Once you get into the higher calories like 1000, you can stall a bit, just like WW and SW (which are only really calorie controlled diets themselves). Hang in there and it will start moving again.
Just check you are weighing and doing everything as per the plan to be sure
Very best of luck. Frustrating isn't it!Cambridge Weight Plan Consultant0 -
Have you seen the new WW ad on tv?
Goes something like - "allows you food and not just shakes & soups" so having a dig at LL and CD0 -
I can’t believe what I’m reading here. There is absolutely nothing wrong with food, and feeling guilty about eating, is absolutely tragic.
These companies make a fortune on other people miseries, and as far as I’m concerned they should be shut down.
I don’t mean to be harsh, I mean to be supportive. All you need to lose weight is a calorie counter, you can then eat whatever you want. You very quickly learn that you can eat more vegetables for your calories than carbohydrates, and more fruit than a tiny slice of cake, or chocolate bar.
For many overweight people food is a crutch, and these despicable companies remove that crutch and replace it with theirs which puts money in their pockets, and empties yours.
You can buy a calorie counter for small change, or there are many online FREE ones like this here
http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/calories/calorie_counter.htm
If you are already resolved to lose weight, then keep the money in your own pocket, in fact, I challenge you to a 1000 calories a day of whatever you fancy, then calculate what you saved each week in money, and lost in weight.
I hope I haven’t offended anyone, but I hate money grabbing jackals that prey on the misfortunes of others, and if you need support, well, you already have it right here, just look at the size of this thread.
I hate messages like that!! Obviously written by someone who has never had a weight issue!!! CD works cos of the high-protein, low-carb way it is. If i ate a 1000 calorie pizza everyday would i really lose nearly a stone in 3 weeks???? No, i'd be a walking zombie and probably lacking in all my vital nutrients and have no energy!! I came on here for support, not criticism from people who know nothing about the cambridge diet. People should get their facts straight and stop bringing people down who are really trying hard to feel better about themselves.
On a good note (cos i cant leave that hanging), i'm on the cambridge diet and have lost 10 lbs in 3 weeks. I've not been completely strict about it and nibble on one babybell light (40 kcals and no carbs!) and also smoked peppered mackerel )from the fridge section in tesco/sainsburys (its a picky/nibble food and all protein, low carb, and also great for that savoury flavour injection which replaces what i got with crisps). Grilled chicken is also good, i cut it into small chunks (cat food size) and pick at it throughout the day. Some days i'll have 3 shakes and that's enough but sometimes i need to eat but its a small quantity and isnt anything with carbs. So anyone worried about the CD, it does work you just have to tailor it to your needs and you dont have to be totally religious with it to lose weight. I'd've lost more if i just had shakes but i might have given up on it so eating things keep me sane!!!!0 -
