I found Cambridge easier with having to take food out of the equation on SS
Then on reintroducing food on 790 etc found it so much easier to control.
Now having been away a couple of times have learned how to balance the food issues.0 -
I'm new to posting on this forum and would appreciate some advice, especially from Louisepp is she's around. My counsellor is away on holiday so I can't speak to him about this.
Basically, I've been on SS for ten weeks now and have lost just over two and a half stone - so extremely happy with that! However, on Monday I started with diarrhoea & vomiting and the most violent abdominal pains - so bad that the paramedics were called. It was diagnosed as a severe case of gastroenteritis and it's only now that the pain has calmed down, I haven't been sick at all today and had only one bout of diarrhoea (sorry for the detail!)
What I need to know is when should I start back on the shakes again. All I've had to eat so far this week is half a piece of dry toast and a small bowl of custard. I tried a shake yesterday but it didn't stay with me long.
On the upside, I've lost 5lbs already this week.0 -
OOh, ouch. Poor you!
I think you really ought to eat what you feel your body needs at the moment...and I doubt it's calling for a low calorie diet of any type. Get yourself feeling stonger.
You could use the shakes as they are full of vits, minerals, and everything else so will help you recover, but start with them split up. Make just half a shake at a time so that you don't get quite such a concentration of vits and minerals that can upset if you're body's a bit sensitive at the mo. You could also water them down a little more for the same reason.
But add extra food too if you need. Do what your body calls for, and if it calls for dry toast. Eat dry toast.
When you feel well enough to give it another go, you could start with a higher plan and work down which is usually more successful when you do the diet 2nd time around.
Well done for the 2.5 stone. That's excellent:j
Hope you feel better shortly.Cambridge Weight Plan Consultant0 -

Louisepp,
Thanks very much for the advice about watering down the shakes. I tried that yesterday - half a shake and 250ml of water and it was fine. I also had some mashed potato too which was yummy.
Today, I'm feeling almost back to normal so have had two watered down shakes and then temptation overcome me - I had a few mouthfuls of cauliflower cheese which was so gorgeous. Anyway, I'm working my way slowly back to Sole Source but I think for the next week or so it might be better to do 810 and then go back down.
Really I just wanted to thank you for the advice and good wishes and I'm (nearly) raring to go again.0 -

Oh goodness C'n'Q. What does it matter. Both forums are great. Both forums give great info, and both sit happily beside each other.
Besides, as you know, I'm a moderator on bothLet's not have a 'which forum is best' competition.

Starting SS today for 10 days straight.
The sun is shining brightly - for a change
Can't chew anything even if I wanted to since I have a loose filling and I can't see the dentist until 8th. Can't chew chewing gum to keep my jaws occupied either since if this filling dislodges altogether I will have a lot of pain and I have enough already.
Got my surgeon's appointment on 19th and want some more pounds off before I go there as I am sure that they will weigh me again - they better had because the last time I went to that private hospital I was nearly 12 stones heavier!!
Hope everyone is CD good today - however you manage to do it.
Good luck x0 -
Lil advice needed here
I've been on 810 for a week now - last week I lost my holiday weight (3 lbs) which was brilliant, but then I gained 2 lbs and now I just can't seem to lose any more.
I seem to be stuck at 10 stone 2
I've gone onto 1000 today to see if that does anything.
Anyone have any help?0
