Cambridge Diet

Hi everyone
Im doing well but have a stinking cold today so feeling a bit sorry for myself. Still sticking to the 1200 plan though although I have added in some sugar free sorbet for my throat as it is killing me.
Essex-girl - ignore your trainer - he is not a doctor - he has no right to make comments like that - just shows his ignorance. If your doctor is happy with you on the diet then thats all you need to know. After all he/she will have been in medical training for years not a few weeks in fitness courses. That might sound harsh but as someone who has been repeatedly been given very bad advice by so called "personal trainers" to the point where my surgeon rang one to correct him!!
Just keep going and you will be fine but dont be doing a lot of aerobic exercise on SS - its not advised. Its one reason I switched to 1200 as I was having trouble managing my swimming - it was shattering me.
I met a friend for coffee last week who had put the same amount more or less on of weight that I have lost since Christmas and I thought he looked really chubby and it brought home to me just how much a stone and a half looks like.
It appears we may have also solved the riddle of the missing CDC too - apparently she may be on holiday for 3 weeks actually - she obviously cant add up as she told us 2. Oh well, still hunting for a new one....0 -
Hope you feel better soon x

The water should be lightly seasoned (CD waterflavouring is perfect for this)
Linda, can you tell me why smoked fish is not recommended? Would undyed smoked haddock be ok? What about prawns? Can you tell me why prawns are not allowed?
Just curious as I had these foods when on AAMWnaughty I know & was planning on having them again in 2 weeks time as they didn't affect my weight loss or make me hungrier. But if I knew the reasoning behind them being prohibited I might change my mind!
And finally what no mushrooms???0 -

Smoked fish because of the salt.
Prawns is supposed to be because of the cholesterol - however prawns have their own inbuilt system to deal with that and it won't then affect your body. I have had prawns all the way through. :j
Mushrooms are okay but Cambridge keep forgetting to add them to the list whenever the books are reprinted - and have done so again with the new ones out this week

Prawns contain cholesterol and salt and smoked fish is salty. Salt is not allowed. Have spoken to Head Office today and Prawns are definitely not allowed on SS.
This can make you retain water and slow down weightloss.
It is best to stick to the agreed foods.
Mushrooms are allowed the basic list is printed your CDC will know if anything else can be used.CWC to Maintainer of the Year 09CWC to Slimmer of the Year Semi-Finalist 09CWC to Inspiration Winner Slimmer of the Year 08Sponsor of the Year 07CWC 23 yrs - CCCC Member0 -
It is true that you should not excercise excessivley whilst ss though.0

You would find that you don't have the energy for a lot of exercise whilst SSing.
Even on 790 I manage a fair amount of swimming and an aqua-aerobics class per week but I couldn't do a gym workout

Hello there please let me intoduce myself.
My name is Ranj and i will be starting the CD two weeks from Monday. I am currently 6ft and weigh just under 13st, BMI of 25, with an ideal weight of 11st I wish to achieve.
Have been preparing myself during last week and this week so far by drinking at least 2ltres of water each day, and eating minimum amounts of carbs. I go gym everyother day and walk at least an hour each day (already lost 8lbs!)
Cant wait to start and boost my weight loss! Would appreciate any tips!
Good luck and best wishes to everyone on this diet! :T
