Leaving T Mobile in last month of contract

Request your PAC tommorow and use it on the 15th or 16th. Have a look at the links above as well, T-Mobile will probably try to charge you early termination regardless which they shouldn't do.simply_tash wrote: »Can someone just clarify something for me please...
My contract with Tmob is up on the 17th of August and i've been reading about people being charged e.t.c for the PAC.
Do i need to call up Tmob today to cancel and request my PAC?
Then, when would i give my PAC to o2? I'm just trying to avoid paying any extra charges...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!0 -

Hiya, I was told I could use my PAC anytime from now til 15th Aug (they're valid for a month). After getting the PAC you could then ring up O2.
As its a month in advance, t mob told me that my LAST bill from them would be this months. Will let you know as my bill date is the 22nd..... hope this helps?0 -
It will be your last bill (provided you use your PAC) as you pay for Augusts line rental in Julys bill.
You should get a refund for the period 17th August - 22nd August if you port out.
Log in your account and check that T-Mobile haven't applied any early termination fees.
You can get the charge refunded if they have applied as an early termination fee before you've even ported out, that's what I did.Tmobile may charge you for the PAC - if they do there isn't much you can do about it.0 -
This thread and those it links to makes interesting reading.
I too have have been effectively double charged for the last month of my T-mobile contract. I was extra careful to give my 30 days notice on the exactly correct day - and I was charged effectively another full month as "early termination penalty" despite having been charged "normally" (in advance) for the final month. [i.e. I didn't actually leave early at all...]
I successfully convinced customer services today that this was wrong as it is double charging for the same period and they agreed to refund the difference - but I have got another line ending next month and that's going to go wrong as well.
I don't mind paying an early termination charge IF I ACTUALLY LEAVE before the contract end date - but I refuse to pay any extra charge, however it is labelled, when I have already paid the contract fully to its end. There is no "Ts and Cs" defence for this behaviour.
If they are routinely double charging, should we not escalate this to Ofcom? They are doing either or both of these:
1) Applying incorrect penalty charges for giving notice, or
2) Not providing any valid technique to halt the contract when it naturally expires. I think the fair trading people frown hard on extended lock ins...
