Yes, I am very pleased, as I have been asking for six years, and I knew there was a vacancy. I have worked in private sector and now private, and I now know which I would prefer if there were any jobs. Private sector, and even that is not secure any longer. But the mortgage has to paid...... like us all we work to live....

You need to be aware though - where they offer to transfer you to may not necessarily be where you want to go. During my brief period in the public sector I was astounded by the politics of the recruitment and vacancy filling process.

Tell me about it, anybody that challenged anything against our manager was transferred out, and told there was no job for them. And it seems to be the worse your behaviour, the more you are looked after. It was the worst thing I ever did was join the civil service. I am being sent back to a job, that I wanted to do, have been asking to be transferred to it for 6 years, but management would not let me go? Probably because I behaved well, and got on with everyone, and did them favours, that no-one else would do. I honestly want to get back to work, and then maybe see where I stand then. Like everyone you have to work to live, as you cannot depend on the government to look after you if you are sick. Waiting lists are up to 8 months long. Mr Poots will be getting a letter from me.....

Be assured that the reasons for your transfer will go before you, so you might not find it that easy to fit in to a new office. People will be very wary of you, so you might find it difficult to become "part of the team."

I don't think this is helpful at all. You are already pre-judging the OP's next appointment hardly filling them with confidence. I know cases of transfers where the baggage from the past does not follow. I sincerely hope the OP ignores this advice.

Pepper, have you contacted the Benevolent Fund, they may be able to help with your financial situation due to your ill-health. The Welfare Staff should be able to advise you about the Benevolent Fund and get you an application form.

Anywhere would be better than where I was, and the whole thing is dealt with very confidentially. I find this forum is very negative about a lot of things, I try to ignore them. If they did ignore me it is called victimisation, so that is another grievance.

There are very negative comments by some, I think they are civil servants themselves, and just don't think that I should be allowed to actually get my point across, and not be treated by bullies.
thanks for sticking up for me...

Pepper, with the greatest of respect it is a public forum and if you are not prepared to accept peoples opinions after asking for them then maybe best not to ask in the first place.
Also your last few words above around "another grievance" ,yet again, dont paint a nice picture of your perspective/outlook and may start folk thinking where fault may lie in the first place...you again are prejudging outcomes and preparing to strike back, as such, without letting due process take its course.
