What 'little extra' do you always take on holiday?

An oil burner with citrussy oils. Absolutely the best at keeping bugs and mozzies out and helps to freshen up musty rooms. Citronella is the traditional one but I find it a bit sickly. Bergamot is lovely - that lovely basil/lemon scent that reminds you of holidays. Set it going for half an hour when you are in your room and it will keep the bugs at bay all night (just remember to not leave it unattended). I've also been known to dab the oil around the window and door frames as a repellent. Also lovely if you are sitting out on your balcony at night to have a candle going.0

I'm not sure that this counts, but something we had never thought of and some of the good folks on the Vegas thread suggested it.
We have a lot of electronics that need charging and were always swapping UK chargers between the converters we had to try to get everything charged as and when...now, thanks to the tip, we bring a UK power strip and one converter...plug that in, and voila, multi-charging station...and since most of our chargers get most of their use on holiday, they stay plugged into the strip when we're at home - no more searching for this and that charger as we're packing as they are all waiting for us in the same place.
It's a very simple idea, but multiple trips to the US over about 10 years and we never thought of it.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
I think I scanned this list too quickly as did a double-take when I thought I readdavidlizard wrote: »A 10ft length of plastic coated string.

Love the Uk power strip idea, now why didn't I think of that? and the length of string. I'm thinking that carrying one in the car boot all of the time would be a good idea...

So does baby oil work as a bug deterrent then? I always use the Avon SSS which works quite well but smells like pine disinfectant!:eek:haha I always take baby oil for the same reason!

Baby lotion would be so much nicer...:) The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
