that's interesting masonn, - I try to accept my 'perfectionist' streak now, as it might be a catalyst for improving, or innovating, or not simply being satisfied with the mediocre. So in that way I think it's positive. I can see why people find it infuriating, though.

The fact is you are never going to please everyone. You may do something and one person will think it is amazing and love it. Another person will have a different view and perspective and not be impressed at all. Just as there are some things that you like and others that you dont. Are you really going to go through life only doing things that other people like and approve of? Living your life almost for the pleasure of others and not yourself.

The only person you have to please and impress is you. If you can appreciate your achievements, value and enjoy the company of all the people you know, take pride in your home and fill your days doing things that make you feel good, then you have a real chance of being happy.

Are you feeling stuck in a rut in your proffessional, social or personal life? Look at making changes so that life becomes more as you would like it to be. Apart from your partner and/or children who would need some consideration, dont give other people and their opinions on your choices a second thought is my advice.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

I do not care one jot what other people think of me,,why worry about trivial things like that...IN fact i do not do worrying....life is too short..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

Just wrote a response and it dissapiered! Well after 18 yers of marriage you find that money and security is just not enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd rather not have any money , but have my hubby next to me , interested in me an only me day and night and touch me, coudle me, (lol not very English!) rather that then any money in the world. ( yes I am woman , how did you guess, we are soooo easy to please,if only the men worked it out earlier!!! haha) re I married him, but I didn' t have a choice ,, unfortunately. If you do, just do what you love, what makes you happy, don't give a toss about anybody else!!!!!!! It is all about you my love.:_) noone ekses. I have just filled for a divorce after trhee times discoussing it. Well fourth time lucky, I might end up on the street , but I know I will be mouch happier, unfortunately it take too many drinks to get there sometime. So when you get !!!!ed and you really want to do something , believe me that will be the best dessision in you life. :-) just go for it. love

I would say that at the age of 34, I am finally happy.

No, I don't like my disability, my weight problem, or my looks too much, but, I have found contentment by helping others, being a good person and I am just starting to become involved in animal rescue. This is the path I have always truly wanted to take, but for various reasons never had the courage.

I have also learned that I couldn't give a toss what others think of me, and oddly, after years of trying to "fit in". Now I have accepted myself I have more friends than I have ever done! Very bizarre!
