Having looked at the list of prohibited items most seem logical and sensible, eg radio transmitters, bicycles, CS spray etc. Even the golf umbrellas and large hats are reasonable.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Rules for the sake of rules are pointless. If you don't agree with something, the easiest thing is to not consent to it. All statutes are by consent. So long as you do this peacefully and lawfully.
The government is not here to rule the people, the government is here to administer the paperwork. Don't forget that.0 -

The problem you'll have, is the majority give the government consent to put you in jail or fine you if you don't obey the rules.0 -
Suppose they have to fund the games somehow. Wait till a few years when all the facilities are unused, and everyone's asking the question what do we do with them.Wanted a job, now have one. :beer:0

Wait a few years when the fancy new venues are only being used once every few months for some schools competition. (Look at Greece, I bet some of those venues built for the 2004 games haven't been used since the 2004 games for anything professional)
I can't see there being much demand for that cycling arena.0 -
I'm intrigued as to how it will actually be enforced. OK - the official cars have Olympic livery - will anyone try and make a bootleg set if they already have a BMW? Or if they are using ANPR - clone a set of plates from an official car?
I'm more intrigued by how they think they can enforce the ban on cyclists using them (at least the ones cyclists might want to use).0
