I edited my post 'cos you had posted in the meantime and the arrow was pointing to your post instead of Fays.

why were you saying fays post correct when i had just said the same thing? and then edited to make sure you were saying fays post was correct and not mine?

*scouse accent* calm down, calm down ;)

Brother got ripped off - end of :) There's no question that he failed to protect himself. Everyone's technically correct - mobiles sent abroad AREN'T insured by RM, but that doesn't make any difference as paypal wouldn't confirm an Italian address anyway.
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

I thought it was only the UK, USA and Canada that could confirm their address.

Hence why I didn't agree with what you said.

the reason paypal say his brother owes then £100 is probably because he failed to cover himself for seller protection"

what did i say that you did not agree with?

Not sure why this has all become about the brother's account. There's absolutely no way that Paypal should be recovering money from one person that is owed by another, who lives at a separate address. End of story. If you are out of pocket because of this, I would file a claim with the Small Claims Court.

Whatever Paypal's issues with your brother may be, they have no legal recourse to try to recover the money from you. None whatsoever.

anyway to the OP, i think you either need to

ask paypal how you can prove to them that you are different people (you may be able to fax them a copy of you passport/driving licence)

or get your brother to pay paypal the £100 they say he owes them
