I hadn't read about how they adjust for the balance transfers before I applied so didn't, but there isn't that much on the van or capone.
Not sure if I can do a balance transfer once the account is open though. If I can instead of paying the cards in full this month will balance transfer (if I am given some kind of 0% offer).
Will wait and see next week.
Will post with an update when I know more ty.

It doesn't actually state anywhere that applying for a balance transfer when making your initial application will increase the credit limit they give you, all depends on your credit history.
In my case when I applied for the Flybe card last month, I got an acceptance message immediatly after submitting the appication stating that my credit limit will be £1000.
I put down 3 balance transfers when making the application which totalled £1900 and was bummed when I saw that I only got a £1000 limit.
When the application goes to a underwriter for fraud checks and so on, they saw that I requested £1900 in balance transfers and adjusted the credit limit accordingly to £2300.
You should have 12 months 0% on balance transfers with the Flybe card if you get it (still states that on the Creation website) for which you will have 90 days upon account opening to do any balance transfers you need.
I was just saying that if you had any balances from Vanquis and\or any other cards that you wanted to transfer to the Flybe, they probably would have adjusted you limit to accommodate them. When the underwriter does the final checks on you application and sees that no BT have been made by you, then you are likley to get a bog standard limit (maybe £1000) for which you will have to wait 6 months before you can apply for a limit increase.
If the application has not yet been seen by an underwriter you may still be in with a chance to give them any BT before they decide you limit. If your application has already been seen by the underwriter then I fear it may be too late.
I only applied for 3 BT when making the application (3 was the limit on the application). My credit limit was decided on the 3 BT I made, but had I called them straight away after submitted the application and given them the 4th bt that I wanted to make, then they may have taken into account this 4th bt and given me a higher limit.
I was not in time for the 4th BT as it already went to the underwriter who gave me the limit according to the 3 bt's that I made, hence why I had to apply for another Creation card (see my posts above).
Give them a call ASAP if you did intend to do a balance transfer.
Hope this helped.0 -
Forgot to post an update, unfortunately didn't get it, but the lady I spoke to suggested I was very borderline so might well have a good chance in 6 months or so At that point almost all the leftover defaults will have dropped off my file (think one is left which goes in jan 2014) so hopefully will get one then. Will put any balance transfers on at application although they will likely be paid off in the next couple of months anyway.
Thanks for the postings.

Hi there
This is an extremely encouraging thread. Have been working on gradually building my credit history for a couple of years now with a Capital One and the worst things on my account are a heap of late payments, 1s, which were in 2009, since then all greens on bank accounts and the Capital One account and have been on the Electoral Reg for 3 years.
I am thinking of applying for a Creation or Flybe card as the next step but am concerned, is it unlikely to get this card when employed part time?
Thank you in advance any advice is appreciated2013 Wombles onto Giftcard Challenge £0/£1200 -

Working part-time and can't make payments on time have a think...0 -
These cards have really deteriorated. Not only have interest rates been raised on almost all cards but so have bt fees and offers, too.
For example, I have been offered a bt @ 3.9% interest for only 6 months on my Silver card (no outstanding balance) and yet there is a 5% bt fee.
Do the creation people think this is an offer I can't refuse?0 -
Been offered 0% for 12 months on 3 of my cards. But they've not been used for about 10-11 months each.... 5% fee.
Didn't need it as I don't carry a balance
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -

I don't feel it was particularly necessary to be so rude, do you?
I know there are people with defaults and much worse things on their histories who have gotten these cards and the missed payments on mine were from errors before I knew better. As I mentioned, I have since received a credit building card and had a completely green history for more than 2 years on every account and was merely asking the likelihood of getting a sygma card working part time, as I would like to make that step now. Should they not accept that, I can continue to build my green credit file and apply for a second building card
Are we not supposed to be on the same side with these things2013 Wombles onto Giftcard Challenge £0/£1200 -
