Why are you planning on harassing the new owners?
Just let them be.
It's just a fence.0 -

I was thinking of doing this.0 -

The legal costs will only continue if the new owners want to legally fight you to take care of this fence....
Maybe they are happy for you to have sole custody of the fence.0 -
I am going to make a guess here.
Is the fence broken? Are you trying to force them to fix it?0 -

You said you felt sorry for them.
As the previous owner will have now moved, only you remain to cause fence related issues.0 -

"Ownership" of a fence. The fence belongs to whichever home-owner's land the fence is on.
If there's been a dispute the whole thing might be about to go away.0 -
Seems to me that this is making a mountain out of a mole hill. Its a fence for heavens sake. What is the dispute? Is it a boundary dispute or is it over who owns the fence? I would be pleased they were moving and resolve to have a better relationship with the next occupant.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0

So what is your dispute regarding the fence that is so important you had to involve the police, want to stop a sale etc.
Maybe they are selling the house to a member of the local !!!!! who have their own way of dealing with squabbling neighbours.
