I have read all your diary and didn't realise you are local to me!!!!Fortune_Smiles wrote: »The cold is dragging on
and I haven't managed to summon up the energy to go to the gym or do much housework this week
The good news is that Mr F and I have been paid so the monthly money shuffle has happened:- money set aside for this month's bills
- a scheduled OP to the mortgage
- £300 to the savings account (another 1% towards goal)
- all credit cards paid
- entertainment budget replenished
We've a busy weekend ahead. It's Armed Forces Day tomorrow and Mr F wants to go to Chatham Dock Yards for their event. Also got an invite yesterday to a neighbour's Barbie so that takes care of Saturday evening. I'm keen to go to the garden centre on Sunday to fill up the gaps in my raised bed.
Am hoping that I wake up tomorrow morning miraculously free of the cold so that I can enjoy the weekend.
Hope you're all well

Hi Mint! A real neighbour as well as a virtual one - how lovely. We're a bit further south than you - about 20 miles away. Off to check whether you have a diary now so I can return the compliment

Hi Fortune,
No diary as I am too random (read lazy) but I read loads of diaries and love to follow them and keep up with all the news etc.
Anytime you are Bluewater way shout and a coffee is on me ;-)

I was invited to a clothes party yesterday afternoon. A neighbour has an aunt who shops compulsively and, as she cannot physically get into her bedrooms now, my neighbour is selling some clothes on her behalf. It was a very eclectic collection as apparently she buys bargains. Many of the clothes were unworn and still had the tags on. There were hundreds of items and for every 1, there are 3 more back at home  She has the money to buy the clothes but can't possibly wear everything so it does seem quite wasteful. Anyhow, the money raised is going to charity so I bought a long, white, linen M&S skirt for £2 and partook of a few glasses of wine.
Waitr0$£ delivered; free bread, crumpets and cherries this time.
Some friends came over to watch Br0adchurch last night - they still don't know who done it :rotfl:We opened a bottle of Prosecco and I made Proscuitto Breadsticks with Creamy Pesto Dip, Blue Cheese Stuffed Dates with Walnuts plus Mozzarella, Cherry Tomato and Basil Cocktail Skewers. Friends brought another bottle of Prosecco which we didn't drink so I broke even on the alcohol and a Cream Cheese and Sweet Chilli Dip with Tortilla Chips. So that was supper sorted :rotfl:
Sadly, the Prosecco has taken it's toll this morning so I won't be getting to Step anytime soon. I'm still a bit achy from Zumba on Wednesday so maybe it's best to break in gently
Mr F is home this evening :j and we have a fun weekend planned.
Enjoy you Friday

I have just realised that it is a year today since I started this diary. So I've had a recap on everything we've achieved in the Fortunate household over that time:
- £3786 paid off the mortgage including £424.91 in overpayments
- about £2200 paid off Mr F's credit cards and we have a 0 balance on all our credit cards now
- £12562.50 investment discovered
- £687.80 added to the emergency savings fund
- saved and paid for a holiday abroad - £2,000
- maintained and improved our home: garage build finished, hall and landing decorated, log store built, bathroom repaired, dining room curtains finished, boundary fences replaced, portrait framed.
Very pleased and inspired to continue.
Thank you to all my 'friends in the box' for your support and encouragement.

I'm really impressed with your recap and achievements this year, well done.
It's encouraged me to take a look at my own as I've been feeling a bit down with all my spending recently.
Keep up the great work!!0 -
