It's encouraged me to take a look at my own as I've been feeling a bit down with all my spending recently.
Keep up the great work!!
Thank you Lula, you've done incredibly well! You know my philosophy - loaves and lilies. It's easy to lean too far one way or the other but that's just a signal to re-balance. The lilies are always calling me... :rotfl:

Well I think we've definitely got an ample supply of Lilies at the moment.... I shall cut back on the self gratification purchases but I'm sure we'll still be a bit spendy in regards to food, drinks, entertainment - it's not often we get a wonderful Summer, so need to make the most of it!!
You're doing great!! xx0 -

- £3786 paid off the mortgage including £424.91 in overpayments
- about £2200 paid off Mr F's credit cards and we have a 0 balance on all our credit cards now
- £12562.50 investment discovered
- £687.80 added to the emergency savings fund
- saved and paid for a holiday abroad - £2,000
- maintained and improved our home: garage build finished, hall and landing decorated, log store built, bathroom repaired, dining room curtains finished, boundary fences replaced, portrait framed.
Very pleased and inspired to continue.
Thank you to all my 'friends in the box' for your support and encouragement.

Amazing post Fortune, it goes to show that you don't know how much you have achieved until you look back. You have done amazingly well and I think your lilies were well deserved0 -

It's hot and sticky here in the Garden of England today and we have made the most of the glorious weather this weekend:
- met up with some old colleagues in Covent Garden yesterday for lunch. Good company but average food although we did get 50% off through T0p Tabl£. £14.60 for the train and £18.20 for lunch
- 5 Vegetable Lasagne for supper left over from Friday's meal plan. Why it's called 5 Vegetable Lasagne I don't know as I counted at least 7 going in :rotfl:
- heard the neighbours were home so invited them all over for impromptu drinks. They bought 3 bottles of wine with them so we only need to provide 1 more and I used up the remaining nibbles from Thursday's girlie evening. Just had to rustle up some Parmesan Gougeres to keep us topped up. We lit the garden table with lots of candles and stayed up chatting and laughing for hours. Had to help one set of neighbours home as they overdid it a bit
- today we visited the Darling Buds of May Farm for their annual classic car show. We drove some friends so they paid the entry fee. They weren't keen on taking a picnic so we said we'd eat there. Big mistake. £15.00 for greasy, soggy fish and chips
I won't be talked out of a picnic next time. Very traditional English summer day with Morris Dancers and ice creams. We bought the ice creams in return for the entry fee - £17.00  Still came in under the entertainment budget for this weekend though so £20 has gone back into the Forgotten Pot
- did the weekly on-line shop - probably £17 under budget
- all in all I think I can squeeze another £50 to go into the savings this month
- 90p to Mr Marmite
- a 75p Tillytidy
- deprived of our picnic today we ate one for supper - Bagels with Cream Cheese, Salmon & Capers followed by Strawberries with Vanilla Cream.
Roll on Friday!
Have a good week all

What a wonderful weekend! Picnic sounds delish.0

Mr F is home this week and I'm back into my routine:
- Step class this morning. Kept it low impact as it's my first time back in 3 weeks. Went quite well considering
- 31p liberated from Mr F's change dish to feed Mr Marmite
- 2 loads of washing done and dried on the line
- 1 basket of ironing done
- 1 dining room cleaned
- a little admin work completed
- Spicy Vegetable & Lentil Casserole from the meal plan for supper tonight. Half put aside for the freezer
- ordered 2 organic soaps from Mi$$ Ballantyn£. I've used up the one I bought recently at a craft stall with a jute soap bag. A little expensive but they do last a while and I couldn't resist the Lavender & Oatmeal and Lemongrass.
Happy Monday all

Good housewifery is continuing in the Fortunate household and there's general good behaviour all round:
- pulled up the spent lettuce from the raised bed
- moved the courgette and aubergine plants from the butler's sinks to the raised bed as they weren't going to flourish where they were
- sowed pak choi and cut and come again lettuce
- followed several Cabbage White Butterflies around the garden and removed their eggs from the giant cabbage :rotfl:
- cleaned the living room
- baked cheesy biscuits for Mr F's lunch box. I should do this more often - cheaper, tastier, healthier and more portions. Kept some aside for this weeks lunches and froze the rest. All suggestions for savoury lunch box snacks to bake welcome
- ironed yesterday's washing
- a hour or so's admin work
- sliced a leftover lemon half and popped in the freezer for when a G&T arises. Don't know why I didn't think about doing this before - think of all those lemon halves I could have saved from the compost heap :rotfl:Thank you Mor£ 4 for your Sup£r Scrimp£r$ re-runs.
- an NSD (so far)
- Baked Stuffed Romano Peppers with Sweet Potato Chips planned for supper tonight. I'm back on the Boot$ Diet - the holiday and resulting cold have taken their toll
Hope you're enjoying the start of our 40 days of sunshine.
