What a wonderful day it was for the Chelsea Hospital Founders Day. The sun shone brightly and there was a lovely atmosphere. It was a proper British do.
Our holiday countdown has started now as Mr F's last day at work was Friday. We have the whole weekend to potter and pack. No cooking for me tonight either as we are off to a fancy dress dinner :T
No MS to speak of. I sort of gave up in the face of all the social and holiday activitiesI'll be back with a vengeance when we get back though.
Have a good weekend everyone.

I have just read most of your thread, from the beginning (but did miss out a few pages in the middle -
Have a great holiday!
i am over on the mainland on Sat to pick up my twins stuff from Uni, and we go to France on Sun 30th. Where are you going?
A few MS tips from your pages, get your printer at Amazon next time, I save a lot on them there (had to buy 3 recently for uni lol) and I use my TCB for Amazon vouchers to pay for them (already overpay 300+ per month). Never paid more than 55-60 for one, even a good one.
I use reg sunscreen for my face- it's cheaper than the poncy stuff
No veg plot for me this year, as spent most of last year in Jersey for OH work and my plots have gone to weeds. Will sort it out, but may not get much planted this year. Maybe some lettuce- it was so cold this spring I am just pretty far behind. I loved my Chard though when I planted it. From salads to pastas and other cooked dishes- very versatile!
Digging a fire pit for the back lawn. In the perfect spot for sunsets. I should say, the twins are digging it. Got 2x18 yr olds gotta make them earn their keep lol. What is your next home improvement?0 -
Fabulous, fabulous holiday. Madeira really is a floating garden and there is so much to see and do. Of course we ate too much, drank too much and spent too much
But it was all worth it!
Back to reality now though. Came back to a few MS plusses to help me get back on the straight and narrow:- £10 J0hn L£wi$ voucher from C0nsum£r Puls£
- £15 Waitr0$£ voucher from My Waitro0$£
- £10 H0u$£ of Fra$£r voucher from Valu£d 0pini0n$
- my salad leaves were ready for picking when we got back :j So far they've provided the base for a prawn, avocado and coriander salad (coriander also from the raised bed) and a tuna nicoise salad. I'm planning another prawn and coriander pesto salad for today's lunch
- reconciled the credit card and bank statements - all as expected
- we were invited to across-the-lane-neighbours for a social on Tuesday evening. I whipped up some almond cookies to take over along with some Madeiran Poncha to thank them for looking after the Fortunate Cat whilst we were away. We stayed for a pizza supper so that saved a meal from the plan for later in the week
- did the weekly shop - £39.78 under budget due to the vouchers and using up stuff in the freezer
- a little Tilly Tidy of 33p to get June's OP's rolling
- half an hour's admin work
- went to see A Chorus Line at the London Palladium last night (courtesy of the Get Surrey competition). Train tickets were £44.00 but we took a light supper to eat on the train to keep the costs down and didn't go mad on refreshments whilst out. Really enjoyed the evening although Mr F did confess to "dozing off" a couple of times during the performance :rotfl:He's such a grandad.
- Red Lentil Spaghetti Sauce from the freezer for supper tonight.
Mr F is off work until the end of the week so at least we don't have to get up early for a while. I've lots of admin work I could be doing though - need to make up for my holiday misdemeanours :rotfl:
Hope it 's been a good week for you all

Thanks for dropping by Atush and thanks for the tips. Don't know how you had the stamina to read through so many pages! I am embarrassed to admit that I forgot to take my facial sun screen with me and ended up using normal sunscreen
I've started picking the lettuce and coriander from our new raised bed. The Chard has all germinated but it will be a while before it's ready. I used up some old seeds this year but the beans, carrots and courgettes haven't germinated so I can feel another trip to the garden centre coming on
Our chimney bricks are disintegrating so our next home improvement project is to get it rendered.
Hope you have a fabulous time in France.

... it's so blimming unhealthy!
Another day sacrificed to the coldAt least I caught it on the way back and not the way out. Mr F and I didn't have too much planned for today - just a trip to a local vineyard that has opened for public sales and we can do that another day. He went for a long bike ride instead and I [STRIKE]lazed about[/STRIKE] recovered on the sofa.
MS:- Waitr0$£ delivered - free Bagels :T this week (short shelf life)
- you may remember we went to Navajo Joe's for dinner before seeing War Horse in April. We had booked their top table deal - £17.50 for 2 courses but, when we got there, they would only let us have the 3 course deal at £22.50. Well finally, and after a lot of chasing, a cheque has arrived for £22.25 which includes a refund of the difference between the two deals and £10 to cover the tip we left and inconvenience :T
- a Tillytidy of 83p
- Lentil Chilli from the meal plan on the cards for supper tonight
Have a good weekend all
