I only have old friends and they're even worse! :rotfl:pink_poppy wrote: »Yum, I love muffins. I had toasted granary bread with tuna, reduced fat cheddar cheese & red onion melted on top the other day. I used to buy wholemeal muffins from Mr T for my kids when they were younger (to make pizza muffins) so will have to look out for them again, thanks for reminding me about them
We often have muffins for breakfast with eggs and cheese/bacon/hollandaise - yummy!

Just back from voting at the Parish Hall. Not many of our friends and neighbours bother but we always do. I want to have a say in what happens in my Borough.
MS today:- OP'd a 50p Tillytidy
- Waitr0$£ delivered - unexpectedly £2.23 under budget :T Lots of free stuff today: bread, stir fry mix and pork pies. Plus they substituted a three tin pack of tuna for three singles and only charge me for the one. Marvellous
- Beans and Cheese on toast for lunch today followed with lots of fruit
- sent off the final paperwork to the FOS. We've been told not to expect anything but I've sent off the forms anyway. Mr F was sold MPI when he didn't need it and that's just wrong. It was a long time ago though and the rules were different then
- Prawn, Tomato & Pea Curry from the meal plan for supper. There was plenty left over to freeze too
- I'd like to say it is an NSD too but I suspect there may be some on-line spending later. We are hosting a Western themed dinner party next Saturday and props are required :rotfl:
Hope you've had a light day (in every way)

I've noticed there are 2 side effects to this diet: it's much harder to get through a Step class
and it doesn't take much wine to get whizzy
Does that count as MS? :rotfl:
Today's efforts:- went to Step class and struggled through. But, did stay and do the whole class even if I didn't put as much effort in as I usually would
- called the mortgage provider to get this month's balance. Love doing this because, as we're on a repayment mortgage, it's always good news
Updated signature accordingly
- Baked Beans and Cheese on Toast for lunch again to use up the other half of the can followed by fruit
- finalised the menu for next weekend's dinner party. And calculated the calorie content. Over 800 for one slice of Banoffee Pie
- Joined Mr F in the garden to start the weekend with a glass. Beer for him, red wine for me - but only 250ml as my calorie diary, recommended alcohol units, head and stomach can't take any more this week :rotfl:
- Butternut Squash and Stilton Gnocchi with salad for supper from the meal plan. Half leftover for tomorrow
- Transferred £383.15 to the savings to round things up to £4K
Have a well deserved, restful, fun and fruitful bank holiday weekend you lovely, lovely people.

Mr F forget to tell me he had his annual dentist appointment yesterday - £190  as he had to have some work done. Meh
So that means the money I put into the savings yesterday has got to come back out again. Hopefully not all but we were also a bit naughty at the garden centre - £42.46  There's a lot of planting needed in the garden now the garage is finished but it will have to be done gradually at those prices.
MS:- Honey Mustard Sausages with Tomatos & Eggs for lunch
- Mr F put a playlist together and I made some props for our themed dinner next weekend
- the remaining Butternut Squash & Stilton Gnocchi for supper
Weigh in tomorrow but I've already had to pull my sports bra in a notch so it's looking promising. Weight or measurements - as long as one of the numbers is going down I'll be happy :rotfl:
Have a great Sunday

I've got over the dentist bill now. I must remember that we are so fortunate to be able to accommodate unexpected bills like this. A spot of work in the garden surrounded by the amazing sunny countryside reminded me of how lucky I am.
It's lovely to see the plants rushing into life now the warmer weather is here. I have loads of rhubarb and chives already so must look into what (low calorie) recipes I can make with those. Rhubarb vodka is always a winner
Just a cheese and tomato sandwich for lunch today as Mr F is out doing 4x4 stuff. Sweet Chilli Cod with Stir Fried Vegetables and Noodles from the meal plan later.
Now we don't have to worry about the chickens, I'm thinking of starting some raised beds. Has anyone used Linkabord? I like the idea of using recycled plastic and they are relatively cheap. I could start with one and add more later if I have any luck. I've dabbled with growing a few veggies in pots with varying degrees of success. I had particularly strange shaped courgettes once (imagine 3 or 4 golf bowls linked together by pieces of pipe) which I was told was down to intermittent watering :rotfl:
Ideas for good beginner veggies welcome

Hi FS!
Re veggies..tomatoes and cucumber as well as rocket and salad stuff..just pick and grow again. Easy and very rewarding. More MSE than potatoes, say, too. We also got on well with green and French beans..depends on how much space you have.
It's been a great weekend hasn't it and definitely one where I was pleased to be out in the garden!

Hi Fortune
You could try runner beans - they generally do well if you keep the slugs away from them. They freeze well too. Sweetcorn is easy too. Garlic is great and stores through the winter. It's best planted in the late Autumn/early winter though, so the bulb divides into cloves properly. As brizzledfw says, salad leaves are great and really easy. Also radishes are quick growing and delicious really fresh. Sounds very exciting - have fun!0 -
Congrats on the diet!
Veggies in the garden sounds fab, very "Good Life" indeed.
Enjoy the sunshine x0 -
beetroot is always a winner. Not everyones cup of tea but I love it.
And swiss chard. Pick some leaves and more grow - genius.
