  • What good company I am in on the cycling front :)

I definitely feel as though normality has returned to the Fortunate household. There's nothing much to report :rotfl:

All planned chores were completed. A small knitting project was started - I haven't decided whether it's a scarf or a cowl yet. Further Christmas leftovers were used up (they are never ending).

I made Cheat's Chill Prawn Noodles for supper. Another quick and easy meal for one :( Mr F comes home tomorrow morning :j

One exciting thing to report - I received a voucher for a course for Christmas so have booked to attend in March :T

Mr F is feeling very unwell - he has the horrid bug I had before Christmas that lasted for weeks. He's on his way home now but the journey will take hours :( Can't wait for him to get here so I can look after him.

    Hope everyone's well.

  • I'm waiting to hear that Mr F has landed. He usually sends me a text to let me know.

I spoke to him last night and he sounded very poorly so I've warned him that he's to go to bed as soon as he gets home.

He was talking about seeing the doctor but the news is reporting that advice from doctors is to stay away unless you have quite serious complications. I've had this bug and I know it feels dreadful but I'm sure he'll improve once he's home and being looked after. Restorative soup is on the menu for lunch.

Do take care if you get this one - it's nasty.

Poor Mr F. Is an organic chicken, lemons and turmeric with lots of garlic in the soup?

Thank you Tcal - easier said than done where Mr F is concerned. I've managed to get him to rest today but tomorrow is another day :o

Not quite as restorative as that DIA :rotfl: but good and wholesome nonetheless.

  • Mr F is home :j and bathed and fed. I couldn't get him to agree to go to bed but he did succumb to sitting with his feet up in front of the fire for the day. I have managed to keep him there by responding to repeated requests for cups of tea and snacks but he is insisting he has to work tomorrow. At least he's scheduled to work from home. I think all depends on what sort of a night he has.

I am still using up Christmas leftovers so today's meals were focused on the cheese board :rotfl:
We sneaked in a mince pie each too with cream for Mr F and leftover brandy butter for me  There is about 100g of blue Stilton left, 2 mince pies and a few small confectionery items still to go. I seem to have rather a lot of potatoes at the moment though so will have to see what I can do with those.

It's going to be an early night tonight and I've warned Mr F I shall be drugging him so he can get some sleep (only N1ght Nur$e ;)).

    Sleep well all

  • Mr F stayed in bed all day yesterday :T It's very unlike him to stay in bed, I've only known him to take to his bed 3 times in the 13 years we've been together so he must be poorly.

We were up at 6.00 am this morning as he was insisting on going to London for meetings but he's feeling so rubbish that he's given in and is sending out cancellation emails as I type. Relieved as I wasn't happy about him driving and he looks very grey. Back to bed with you Mr F.

There was soup and scones leftover for lunch and I defrosted some pasta sauce to have for supper. We had a very long power cut before Christmas and, although the freezer contents survived, I'm not happy about leaving things in there for too much longer.

Ordered the shopping - 55p under budget. Not much but I've transferred it into savings as it all adds up.

Right - better get Mr F some more tea.

    Have a great day.

  • Mr F is up and about again :) He's still not well but is sleeping through the night and is able to do a little work from home. He says he can feel his energy returning so that's a good sign.

I had a long conversation with HMRC yesterday - they've estimated Mr F's income for the remainder of the tax year and have been very generous so his tax code is wrong again  All sorted now and I did get through to a real person as soon as the extreeeeeeemely long automated message finished.

It seemed to be a day for money sorting so everything is now budgeted and reconciled.

My intercostal muscles are still a little sore but I'm hoping that I'll be fine to get back to the gym next week. I've made a note of the times of the classes I'd like to go to.

I've also asked Mr F to give me his available weekend dates so we can start to plan a social life. He says he can't guarantee the dates will stay available  I'm going to plan some stuff anyway otherwise we'll end up doing nothing.

I'm off to meet a friend for coffee and a catch up this morning. Hope I get back before the snow comes :D - see those teeth, they could be chattering later :rotfl:

    Have a great Thursday
