Had a lovely evening with DC. She bought me a bag of potatoes, much rhubarb :rotfl: and an enormous box of cherries
A neighbour also offered me the last of their blackcurrants so I have a great deal of fruit processing to do today. Will have to investigate some recipes that will freeze.
Mr F is home bearing giftsand a nasty bug he picked up on the plane
He's off to a 4x4 show today and I'm a bit worried about him making the long drive.
It's payday today so I have some money shuffling to do.
I'm debating whether to stop my tour job. I'm on zero hours and, during the summer, it's so hard to manage the commitment. I always end up doing far more than I'm happy with. I've done very little painting or writing this year as a result. I wouldn't want to leave them in the lurch so will have to continue to the end of the season at least. I could stay to end of February maybe as things slow down over the winter months. Am thinking hard...
Have a lovely Friday everyone.

Thank you Greying. I am really loving the acrylics and how much colour and light I can get into paintings. So easy to work with to. I'm hoping to start another painting today - geese. I like the thought of a very vibrant green background against the white plumage.

Prepped a new canvas so I could start another painting this afternoon only to find that, despite numerous reminders, Mr F has not ordered more ink for the printer. So I cannot print off the reference photo I need  I couldn't give him too hard a time about it though as he is really under the weather, poor thing, and facing a longish drive to the show with two nights under canvas rather then in his own bed.
Mr F has to order the printer ink as the printer is provided by and paid for by his employer. I was so looking forward to loosing myself in paint for a couple of hours - very disappointed. I have been naughty and ordered the absolutely run out colour on-line to arrive tomorrow . Even if Mr F orders more ink through the Company on Monday it may not arrive until the end of the week and I can't wait that long
No money saving there then
But, there has been on other fronts. The fruit has been put to good use; rhubarb roasted for the freezer, blackcurrant cordial bottled and 2lbs of the cherries prepared in red wine syrup. Only 1lb of cherries left to go
I'm working all day for the next two days - thought it wouldn't be a problem as Mr F is away - but now I want to paaaaaaaaint!
Happy weekend guys

Have spent much of the evening readying your diary after stumbling across it. Your paintings are amazing - loving the acyrillic.
I'm also loving your recipes, I've screen shotted loads for future reference and your talk of a veg box has driven me to action. Something I've been meaning to do for a while, having cancelled our old one a number of years ago when I was on mat leave. I think I've found a local organic one that if what is says is true should be just perfect and help cut our food budget some. Thank you.
I've subscribed if that's ok. We too are trying to pay off mortgage (eventually) but have several house improvements required, including an extension if truth be told. Will be following with interest.0 -

Hello Purple Fairy
lovely to 'meet' you. I can't believe you've read my diary - that's some stamina you've got there!
Thank you for your kind words about my paintings. I love, love, love the acrylics and would paint all day given half a chance.
I started getting the veg box because I wanted to eat more seasonal veg and veg grown locally where possible. I menu plan around it and have tried lots of things I wouldn't have thought of previously.
Mortgage freedom is also my final goal but my diary is more about finding the right balance between spending and saving.
Thanks for dropping in and good luck with your plans.

Nothing much to report from the weekend as I worked the whole time.
Mr F came home yesterday, still sniffly but much improved. Didn't stop him from keeping me up most of the night with sneezing and such. So I'm still quite sleepy this morning. I'm going to drug him tonight... N1ght Nur43 :rotfl:
He's off again on an overseas business trip on Thursday so we went out for supper last night and had a proper catch up. The Estate pubs had stopped serving so I couldn't make use of my discountBut it's nice to try elsewhere sometimes and we didn't go mad. The cost will be met from this month's fun money.
I have some washing to do today and a general tidy up but Amaz0n delivered the printer ink Saturday so most of today I shall spend painting :j
Hope you're week starts well.
