Wasn't it a fabulous weekend - a little sunshine makes all the difference.
I went out with some friends for a cream team on Saturday afternoon which was lovely and all the tastier because I didn't payIt was a treat to say thank you for some support I'd given.
There was an impromptu invite to join Across-the-Lane-Neighbour for a Barbie Saturday evening so I surveyed the fridge and rustled up:- Bay Scented Prawns except I alternated the prawns with some coley chunks and made up a lemon and olive oil marinade to replace the mayonnaise
- Tomato, Cucumber & Coriander Salad
- Potato Salad with Caper & Tarragon Dressing but with boiled potatoes rather than roast.
We took some beers from the cupboard and a bottle of wine from the rack and had a lovely evening. Hangovers were earned but not suffered so Sunday was a pottering and chores day.
Today I started training for my new job - it involved walking through the countryside in the sunshine and drinking alcohol :j
I tried Jerusalem Artichokes for the first time last night in a Smoked Haddock & Jerusalem Artichoke Gratin The dish was lovely but I didn't know that Jerusalem Artichoke had notorious after effects!
Not a bad start to the week in all.
Happy Monday everyone

I went into town yesterday with some girlfriends. We don't get the opportunity to go shopping very often these days as everyone is working now.
- friend drove so no fuel or parking costs - I did offer to make a contribution but it was strongly refused
- lunch out. Friend had some vouchers so I ended up paying £10
- I sold a print on Fleabay over the weekend so picked it up from the printers
- bought cards and wrapping paper for pending birthdays
- bought some potatoes to go with last night's supper - Sausages with Creamy Lentils
- noticed there was a sale on in Laura A$hl£y so had a browse. Got 3 tops and 2 light weight cardigans for the summer at 50% off. I had planned to look for some summer clothes and had some money from painting earmarked for them so happy with that. They will be suitable for the new job too.
More sunshine today :j I intend to do a little gardening this morning and tackle my ironing mountain this afternoon.
Happy hump day and here's a little reminder for you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RiQ71gbVJlM

The ironing is no more. And that about sums up my day really. There wasn't time for anything else. No cooking required as we had leftover sausages for supper.
I have a very indulgent day planned:- drop off print sale (it was bought by somebody local)
- have pedicure. This is a half price treatment I got from attending a PTFA event
- get my hair done.
Hope everyone's still getting sunshine

The wind has suddenly picked up here and I'm glad I don't have to leave the house today.
Mr F and I got up earlier than usual this morning as he is on site this week. As I was making breakfast, a movement in the field beyond our garden caught my eye. It was a mother duck with about 20 little ducklings scurrying across the field. An opportunistic crow was following but she bravely chased him off and got her rather large family to safety at the boundary fence.
Time seems to be passing so quickly at the moment. It's aaaages since I last posted:
Loaves:- I have worked 3 1/2 days in the new job and am really enjoying it. It's more physical than I expected as you are on your feet all day but that's good as it means I'm burning more calories. I'm earning a little more fun money and get a huuuuuge discount - what's not to like
- budgeting and spending is going to plan. I've replaced the broken 20 year old tumble dryer with a tiny new one which is much less conspicuous. I also bought some plants at the weekend to brighten up the pots in the garden and fill the vegetable bed. That's the house improvement budget spent for this month
- I have three painting commissions pending but the photos haven't been taken yet so it may be some time before they come in. In the meantime, I've continued to post my work in progress for the cat painting and will be putting the finished work on FB at the weekend https://www.facebook.com/BeeGardenArt
- inspired by some OPs on this site I have Kondo'd quite a few of my drawers. The results are very pleasing
- we've spent a lot more than usual on eating out in the last month - largely due to two special occasion meals we attended
- I've also had to replace some cosmetic items
- I'd like a few more items of clothing for the summer but will keep an eye out on Fleabay for those.
I hope all is going well with my fellow forumites
