Hey Fortune - I was browsing JO's instagram feed the other day (by his own admission, he prefers to use this to other types of social media), anyway, I spotted his pic for 26th December 2014 and immediately though of you and your talent for painting vintage and classic vehicles - plus your love for Landy's
He bought dear Jools a portrait for her birthday - perhaps she could reciprocate for his, with a painting from a 'local-ish' artist.......
Hope the link goes straight to the relevant pic - there's too much nosh/temptation on the *feed* otherwise

Loving the halo  and I rather like the sound of those recipes - good idea to have a savoury crumble, though I think I'd be rubbish at cooking a frittata, my sense of timing is rubbish for things like that. Interesting that it describes using a grill though - I've discovered my little spaceship, aka my halogen oven, can also act as a grill :j
Me too Karma - I have to set an alarm. Luckily Mr F likes his food on the crunchy side :rotfl:

That's a fabulous photo Greying, she's very pretty. I love that you think I could be a 'celebrity choice' artist

Halo's not shining quite so brightly this week:
- I am sitting here typing when I should be at the gym
I did go on Monday and Wednesday but overslept this morning. Mr F and I are planning to do some gardening this weekend so I'm hoping that will make up the deficit
- New car commission is progressing as planned. I've had to order in the colour for the bodywork so am waiting for that to arrive
- a little housework has been completed
plus a trip into the market town to do some chores
- I've been out 3 evenings this week - cinema trip, WI and PTFA. We had a 'Bee' talk at the WI which was fascinating and I bought 2 jars of local honey
- Money is within budget on all counts. We're waiting to hear whether Mr F will get a pay rise or bonus. He hasn't quite been with the company for a year so we don't know whether he qualifies. I hope he does. He works so hard and deserves some recognition.

What a beautiful day:
- a little more painting this morning. The red paint I need still hasn't arrived so I'm concentrating on the bits that aren't red for the minute. Finished the lights this time
- made a Walnut, Date & Honey Cake. It's the first time I've tried this recipe and I'm very pleased with the way it turned out. It uses a couple of bananas so great for using up the sulky ones but a change from the usual Banana Cake. The method is all in one so quick and easy too
- tidied up the whole garden this afternoon which I'm hoping will make up for missing Step class yesterday
I wasn't expecting to finish it in one go but pleased as that frees up some time tomorrow to go and mooch around the garden centre :T

I think I might have a tipple tonight myself
Thats amazing to tidy the whole garden in one go, FS! Very impressive. And I like that recipe - one of the only ones I've seen to estimate the weight of bananas necessary - increasingly important now that so many different sizes are sold!

Tbh Karma I don't have to do much. Mr F takes care of mowing and hedge trimming. I do weeding and planting. I plant evergreen perennials wherever possible so most of the tidying involved pruning.
I liked that about the recipe too!

Today continued in much the same way as yesterday:
- a little painting this morning - number plate complete now
- another load of washing on the line
- baked Pear & Cocoa Muffins. We haven't tasted them yet so the Jury's out but I thought they were a good way of using up pears when needed
- a visit to the garden centre. Sowed leeks, garlic, spring onions, lettuce and parsley in the raised bed. Replaced a mint I lost last year and planted Hissop for the bees
- Chorizo, Cabbage & Chickpea Stew planned for supper
Hope you've enjoyed the sunshine

Somebody sneaked into the raised bed last night and dug up some of the garlic I planted  Who would do that? I have my suspicions but am keeping them to myself at the moment Mr Badger.
Life continues in the Fortunate household:- Step and Zumba classes attended this week
- the red paint finally arrived so I've started on the car's bodywork. The colour is spot on but there are lots of tree reflections to master on this one
- a little housework achieved
- this week's recipes so far are Oven-baked leek & bacon risotto (an old favourite due to its being cheap and easy) and Cauliflower Macaroni Cheese (to make use of the cauliflower in my veg box this week)
- it seems as though Mr F can expect to get something by way of a pay rise or bonus this month but we don't know what yet. I suspect it's going to get eaten up by a tax bill though. The Tax Office have got Mr F's company car details wrong again - quelle surprise!
Hope you're having a good week

You had me worried there about **people** thieving from your garden! But you have still lost the garlic
Interesting to think of the reflections to master, loving the sound of that. Enjoy the light2023: the year I get to buy a car0
