well done for yesterday! :j one day at a time :) - when you listed the money you owe to friends; are these payday loans that are due to come out this month or is it their own money they have lent you?

if i were you, i would cancel your debit card which your payday loans are due off and try and open a new bank account before your payday. if this isn't possible, as soon as your wages go into your bank, move all your money from the account associated to the card the payday companies have. even though you cancel the card, the companies can sometimes force the payments through on the old card numbers using a rolling authorisation (there is a very helpful thread in these boards on how to deal with payday companies) just don't pay them this month - i'm not saying ignore them because they will catch up with you eventually, but these companies don't usually let you even set up a repayment plan untill you default on them.

cancel all your direct debits (gym etc)

pay only your rent/mortgage, council tax, gas/elec etc - priority debts.

do you live with your girlfriend? is there anyway the 2 of you could pool your money that comes into the house? i know this might not be possible and i know you don't want to tell her about your gambling problems but even if you tell her the extent of the money you owe to friends and family maybe she'll go for it and take control of all the money for both of you.

looking at your figures quickly, i make out that you need roughly £1600 this month just to pay the debts and thats not including priority bills like rent/mortgage or the ccj payments, which (as far as i'm aware) if you don't pay the ccj payments set by the court, the creditors can go back to court and apply to have your wages arrested, but this may take a while and i know others might not agree with me but if you don't pay these this month, it could give you a bit of breathing space in the short term.

the speeding fine and parking fine: i'd contact the court/council and tell them you are experiencing financial hardship and can you pay in installments - you never know - they might go for it!

i know it seems hard but there is always a solution to any debt problem.

let us know how you get on x

Good job posting your current debts and the money you owe to various companies/friends/family.

However, you should only pay money back to your friends and family if they really need it. They are the supportive people in your life, and if they can put off getting the money back from you by just a couple of weeks or a month or two, it will give you time to pay back the loans that have an interest rate which is making the loan grow even bigger, which obviously these need to be dealt with first and foremost!

Secondly, you mentioned two late payments on the gym, a speeding ticket and a parking ticket. This is just pure evidence that as a person, you need to sort yourself out inside and out. Pay for parking, don't risk being fined £30-£60, or whatever it is, just to save a couple of quid, and don't be a reckless driver speeding somewhere when you are at risk being fined also!

And thirdly, scrap the gym membership! You're having to save for things now, and to commit to organising your life out properly, you need to cut back on things.

Yeah the parking fine i got is cause i simpy had no money when parking to get a pay day loan.
The gym i signed up for a year last year so i was in a contract and it did give me something to do for 50quid a month instead of blowing 500 a month i guess in bookies so feel i need to get back their

O.k so list 1 is not as important right now. I suggest you go to the Co-op or Barclays and apply for a basic bank account as soon as possible. Then get all your wages transferred in before the payday loan companies get hold of it.
Secondly make a list of things you have to pay this month:
    rent/mortgage
    gas/electric
    council tax
    mobile (this month)
    home phone
    gym (this month)
    food
    etc

Then see what is left - say 1000.
You then need to see how you can divide this up between your debts. First off you really need to sort out the court fines etc as these can lead to bigger problems.
You then need to decide whether to split the money in a fair way between your friends/family you owe money to ie pay half of what you owe each person or a third etc etc or whether you are going to pay some and pay some next month.
I suggest you write to all your creditors at some point and let them know you are experiencing financial difficulties and are getting help with your debts and will be in touch with a repayment plan (do not write to the paydayloan companies until you have got your new bank account sorted as otherwise they may try and raid your bank account).
Obviously you need to stop gambling, you nee to self exclude yourself from as many casinos/bookies you can fnd and you need to install gambling block software, and you need to get help. Please, please use this opportunity to get straight before you loose even more.
The next few months will be rocky but you can do it - think of things you can do when you want to gamble - go for a run/to the gym after work, learn a language, play tetris - anything that will take your min off gambling.
    Best of Luck

If you ring up the courts and explain your situation they will take small payments -I know because I helped my ex with this and they agreed to take 5 pounds a week. You MUST however pay on time-miss one payment and it goes straight to a debt collector. They don't hang about. In my ex's case it was because 1 payment was late due to a bank holiday, and 2 days later a letter arrived about the debt collector taking over. Luckily I was able to sort it for him with the courts directly as the debt collector was a nasty piece of work.

I never gambled all weekend - but my self and girlfriend had a really bad argumentSat we have decided to call it a day, i think all of this has just got to the both of us.

My friend has borrowed me some money after telling him my situation I am in with debt he has borrowed me 3200...
I have put 700 to my now ex so she can pay off those PDL.
I am taking 1500 to the auto money place today to get my brothers log book back. I have give my mum 100 towards what i owe them. i have another 100 to pay my 2 months gym as getting back in the gym will keep me occupied and give me some focus.
This will leave me 800 pounds. I will need to pay my speeding and parking fine and then workout what i should pay first re friends.

The money he has lent me is no pressure to pay him right away he even said i can start paying him next year once i straighten my self out. it is actually one of the friends i already owe 500 to.

I feel a lot of releif but so much is going on right now its a lot to take in.
All the help on here I am so thankful for, some good people out their.. I still have a long way to go to work a lot of things out but one step at a time i guess...
I am still unsure about all the payday debt I have-- I have managed to change my wages to another acount which these companys dont not have the details of.
  • Good luck - sounds like that's a good start! Sorry to hear about your lady though - maybe once she sees you're getting sorted you can work things out.

What happens if they let you in when you self exclude? plus their is so many of them not just in my city to.
Not trying be funny i just think that self exclusion is a waste of time even when you close your acc online their so many others you can use, i no this sounds bad they way i am looking at thing but i just think if i wanted to find a way to gamble then i could quite easily.

They don't let you back in when you self exclude. My friend took her son round the casinos and he asked to be excluded.

You are right there will always be other places but start by limiting your opportunities.

    Hope this helps!
