You will not get money to pay your family by gambling. Get help, get an SOA done and get some real advise on the ACTUAL money you have / can earn not the stuff fantasies are made of in the world of gambling.
You have proven to yourself GAMBLING DOES NOT PAY so do not keep banging your head on that brick wall. There is a saying the definition of insanity is doing the same thing hoping for a different outcome.
Look you can get a plan and get this sorted you just need to get the black hole of gambling under control. People will be happier with a plan and no money that even more debt and lies. Be brave - you know you canStart info Dec11

I lent money to a friend with a gambling problem in the belief that it would just tide them over til they got themselves back on their feet. The £500 disappeared straight into the til of the nearest High St bookie.
You have to admit to your friends and family the extent of your problem; I am sure they would rather wait a while for what they're owed than see you try and repay them by gambling. Consider asking your girlfriend or a family member to take charge of your finances; until you have properly tackled your addiction you are not going to solve your money problems. They are an EYESORES!!!!0 -
What a fool. Clearly doesnt want to get help or stop gambling and he's just hoping to hit the jackpot.
If you had an ounce of sense, you'd know that the £800 you blew this week would have gone a long way in paying your friends and family if thats what you truly want to do.0 -
bad... if i could get 3.5K i could sort them all out ( freinds and family ) and then work on the other stuff with a DMC - but i have no idea how to resolve or get that..
I think if you got the 3.5K this week it would be a bad thing you would just gamble it, you need to sort your gambling out and go to Gamblers Anomynous.
Only then can people help you as at the moment the only spare money you have goes to the bookies.0 -
You need to start to deal with your gambling problem before your debt problem mate. I hope you get the help you need. There must be some good charities that help with gambling though i'm not aware who they are.DFD: 21st June 20120

Not a very constructive comment? The OP clearly realises he needs help with his gambling as he's posting on here and owning up to it. I'm also concerned about the amount of money he's spent this week, especially the attitude that he may be able to 'win' back the money for friends and family - but signposting the OP to places he can get support is probably more helpful that labelling him as a 'fool'.
OP, please seek help for your gambling addiction. Until this is under control you will never be able to get on top of your finances and your relationships with your partner and family will continue to suffer. Please stop accepting money from anyone else, whether this is from a family member or from a loan, as this will just go on gambling and will make your situation worse rather than better. Gambler's Anonymous and Gamcare should both be able to help - and if you gamble online then please contact all of the sites, inform them of your problem and ask to be excluded from gambling across their networks.
In terms of the financial problems, I agree with the poster who asked you to complete an SOA - this will enable posters to give you specific advice on your situation. A template can be found in the 'sticky' newbie thread at the top of this board. You also need to make sure that your partner and family are fully aware of the situation, whilst they may be upset or angry in the short term, in the long term they may be able to help you and could take over managing your accounts for a while.
It could be helpful for you to contact the CCCS or another debt management charity to see if a DMP may be suitable for your situation. If you decide to manage this yourself then please contact your lenders and outline your situation as they may be able to freeze interest / suspend charges / offer reduced payments or give other support (some lenders are better than others at this). I think that in your situation it would be a good idea if you did this in conjunction with your family and partner as this is a lot for you to manage alone, especially whilst you are trying to deal with an addiction.
In the very short term, if you feel that you are in crisis then please contact the Samaritans for support. Your post reads as though you are very manic and struggling at the moment. Please take a moment to realise that you have friends and family who love you and no situation is unmanageable. People may be disappointed with how you've managed things, but they still care for you and with the correct support and treatment you can recover from this addiction. However bad things are now, they will get better and you taking ownership of the situation is a critical first step to ensuring that things improve.
Sending you big hugs and best wishes. Please don't be put off by the people who just take the attitude of 'you've been silly and now have to deal with the consequences'; what you're suffering from is an addiction and it can be recovered from. Please complete an SOA as soon as possible and there are plenty of lovely people on here who will offer you advice and should be able to help. Times are dark now, but tomorrow is a new day.0 -
Also, I read from someone else who'd had a gambling problem that they found it useful to cut up / hand cards to another family member and only take out the small amount of change they needed for lunch each day. That way they had the stark choice of eating or gambling and it helped to put things into perspective and reduce temptation during their lunch break.0

there's a gamblers and ex-gamblers support thread in the diaries section http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1090463 that you might find helpful - it's people who are in a similar situation to you or have been there.
Really brave of you to post and good luck.
