Samsung s3 or Iphone 4-5 ?

You have forgot to say its a cashback offer. You can get an s3 for under £25 a month from mobiles.co,uk. An iPhone 5 will be a minimum of £45 a month for 24 months. You'll grow to resent it. I have had both and will never go near an iPhone again. The s3 is cheaper, much bigger screen and more customisable. It has removable battery, you can add more memory with a sd card. It's lightning fast, much faster then my iPad.
Just marked thegoodmans post as spam. It's grossly over biast. For example, there is no flash support at all on iPhone, but you make it a disadvantage for an android but fail to mention it on the iPhone section
How do you know what price iPhone 5 will come out at?
I will say it again if I was op I would wait until iPhone 5 and may be even Windows Phone 8 is released then make the mind up and also look at the reviews on CNET and others, posters here are not pro review writer or have access to all phones. So far not one post have been 100% accurate to help the op, only how the os I have is better then others etc. Not one person have asked for the basic question about op's requirements.0 -

I assume you count your own post under that category?0 -

thegoodman wrote: »Yes its a fact. I can only say what I think is right, only OP will have all the facts. Thats why I have also said to the OP to do the research unlike other posts saying to go for S3 without knowing what OP need.
The op states what he/she needs in the first post.
"Looking into these 2, Samsung s3 or Iphone 4-5 ?
main use will be for calling, basic net browsing, texting, not too much new usage."
Not much usage = mid mins text contract
iPhone 4s, old expensive phone
iPhone 5 will be silly money
S3, cracking deals that meets the op requirements0 -

Calm down everyone.....that's the closest we've got to iTroll admitting to his bias!0 -
Depends what you mean by limited. If you can manage with having no bluetooth file transfer, no memory card slot or USB mass storage and a (comparatively) small screen the iPhone shouldn't be a problem to you.so would it be worth waiting for that? or would havng IP5 limit me, as android is open sourced, where as iphone is just apple?
what would you suggest? and why? /reasons
The open source nature of Android means (amongst other things) that you will be able to have the latest version of Android even after the manufacturer has abandoned the phone.
Having the latest version of iOS isn't really an issue as Apple have been shown to update their phones for 3 years, the iPhone 3GS is on the latest iOS 5 albeit with some features missing.
I wouldn't wait for the iPhone 5 unless you really want an iPhone. The iPhone 5 might have a slightly larger screen, better processor and more RAM, but it will still have the same limitations as before and be massively expensive.
If it was me, I would be having the Samsung.0 -
This is nothing to do with open source. The team XDA have been able to put Windows Phone OS into HTC HD which use the mobile os or made Siri work with the older iPhones. Same as S voice into S2. What you are going on about are the hacks which can be done to any os open or not.

If this is the case then Windows Phone and ios is also open source, is it not?0 -
Explain it to me then. Give me the benefit of your superior knowledge.thegoodman wrote: »This is nothing to do with open source.
