afternoon ladies
just popping on to catch up, we got home from hospital on Thursday and the last few days have been a bit of a blur! This has been the hardest, most intense and most amazing week of my life
I put my birth story up this morning, here. Nothing really went to plan, and there were some scary bits, but now that we're home I don't care that it all went wrong, as Ellie is healthy and well.
Hope you're all doing ok, and not too impatient waiting for your babies, here are a few piccies of Ellie to tide you over while you wait
In the hospital on the morning after she was born:
and having a snuggle in a blanket just after we got home:
she looks angelic here, but had just had 3 poos while DH was trying to change her nappy and had to have a full change of clothes! Poor Daddy was a bit shellshocked:cool::rotfl:

Happy birthday Lady Morticia
:grouphug: for Morocha, thinking of you.
Yaye for having the boiler fixed Rups!
Hope everyone else is well, finally got shot of the headache that has been plaguing me for days, been out for a long walk this morning which was lush in the cold winter air and then been doing some ironing this afternoon and now I'm pooped!
Found my first pregnancy stretch mark this morning on the bottom of my bump, yikes!I :heart2: saving money0 -
Aw, honey, you're not a failure. He's just an idiot.
It's only natural that you're upset, anyone would be, and that's even before you take pregnancy hormones into account. Hugs xx0 -
hi all.. hapy bold days to the boldies.
labour vibes your way honies..:)
thanks for your story littlemoog and the lovely pics. she is abs gorgeous.
have a sligt headache now and just feel tird even though have not done much. lol.. woke up late, washed up a bit and then we went to the in laws for lunch. am back and online and just feel tired and headachy. drank a cup of tea hoping it will sort it out.. i am sure i will want to eat soon too.
morocha, i am so sorry to hear about how you are feeling. you can pm anyone of us if you wish. we are here to listen to you and if we can advise you. I am sorry you found conversations of your hubby on fb with some random woman.. i know you feel so lonely but you have your lovely daughter and you have a little one coming soon too so you have your lovely children. you do not deserve this honey and it seems like (whether he is depressed or not) that he just doesnt care about your feelings. yes you are married, and you have done your part of trying to make things work but has he done the same? it is a two way effort. i think you need to calmly think what are the advantages and disadvantages of this relationship and if there is more tears and sorrow for you than hapiness wth him then you know what to do. it never is easy breaking things off and god knows hw many times we have all been there, but do things for you now as you are NUMBER 1 and your health is so important as whatever you feel, the baby will feel, and i am sure baby feels your sadness. we are here honey..
i can relate as my ex made me feel like that and so insecure and after 5 years i had to just make the decision and walk away. i know we werent married but it was still a relationship that meant so so much to me.
hugs for you and remember you deserve happiness and for you to be sane so your baby is healthy too. xxxxBecame Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Bamama, so weird that you asked about the head engaging. when i went to see the GP, i asked him to check or tell me somehting as the usual bp check etc etc were done, so he pressed down really hard and i was screaming and he said not fully engaged. so when i went home and cheched my notes, he has written what looked like 3/5. so what does that mean? does it mean once the baby is engaged, then things are going to happen soon?
The baby's head descends into your pelvis in preparation for birth. This descent is measured in fifths. If your baby's head is 3/5's engaged it means that three fifths are in your pelvis with 2/5's above. Fully engaged would be 5/5 although this would probably be written as 'Eng'. (Some people might write this the other way round just to be confusing! - check with your midwife).
Although the closer you get to labour the more your baby's head engages (particularly for first babies, subsequent babies can stay unengaged until labour is actually underway), it's no real indication of when your baby is likely to be born. It could happen a month before, it could happen a week before. However, for first babies an unengaged head would suggest that labour is unlikely to start, so I'd say that 3/5s at your gestation sounds great."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
