    Morning all!

Congratulations salli on the birth of your little one.

Fingers crossed everything goes well for you today Rebekah and it's not too painful.

Thanks for the get well wishes. Still feel rough today - woke up in the night absolutely soaked through, so stripped off, as my nightie and covers etc were wet, only to wake up at 5am absolutely freezing cold and teeth chattering (luckily nightie etc had dried out enough to put on) - got Moon to close the bedroom window (we only have one and it's on his side of the bed), and he snuggled me to try and warm me up. Took paracetamol at 7.30 this morning to bring down my temperature (my normal temp is 36.0, but it measured 37.1C so not that high, but still higher than normal for me). Have had breakfast so that Bean has eaten, although I didn't feel much like eating. Moon said that I should go to the dr, but I can't see them saying anything other than keep up with the paracetamol and drink lots of fluids (both of which I'm doing anyway). Keeping my fingers crossed that I feel better by tomorrow, as I could really do with being able to work the full day I've got booked in then seeing as I've missed 2 mornings now.

On a positive note, Moon had the day off work yesterday, and has sorted out most of the spare room. He's got rid of a couple of old chests of drawers, and has also put up the cot. :) It looks really good, and I can't wait for the rest of the room to be finished so that I can order the new furniture to match the cot. I feel a bit more settled now knowing that if Bean did make an early appearance that he'd have somewhere to sleep now. Moon also told MIL yesterday that we want the first 2 weeks to ourselves before we introduce Bean to the world so that we can bond with the baby etc. She seemed to take it reasonably well, but she did say, "but you may need some help". Moon replied that we'd ask if we do, so hopefully this wish will be respected and she's not too upset about it. The NCT lady at our antenatal class said that telling her sooner rather than later would allow her time to get used to the idea.

Well I'm off to have a shower and put some clothes on instead of my nightie, and hope it'll make me feel more human.

Hugs to all who need or want them, and labour vibes where appropriate.

    sexymouse xx

re crossing legs - my physio said you can ONLY cross your ANKLES...So if you're putting socks on it's better to sit down.
My physio also said not to slouch and always sit up straight, preferably with a pillow behind your back.
I've been waddling for a few weeks now and have no desire to cross my legs either. And sock putting on is problematic if I don't sit down as my bump is in the way so hopefully I'm doing these things right without thinking about it! I do normally sit cross legged on my chair at work though (I have flexible hips...) - did she make any comment about that?

I go to one of those to get my eyebrows threaded - I think it should be fine, I've never heard anything about it not being ok.

personally I wouldn't but I wouldn't go if I wasn't pregnant either. I just think if the staff have to wear masks they are dealing with some pretty harsh chemicals and I'd rather not be around them! I'm sure a manicure or two would do no harm to the baby but it might not be very pleasant for you to be sat there for a while.

Don't know about where you are but the nice salons by me do "Express" or similar manicures for not much more than a tenner. Or if you want to be :money:try the local beauty college, never been myself but they do manicures for a few £ here:D

That's where I go to as well, their threading is really good. There's also Touch & Beauty around the corner in Surrey St Market, the threading hurts a bit more IMO (and they told me I needed a facial, which was part of the reason I found somewhere else...) but it doesn't smell like chemicals, so if you're worried you might be better off there.

Oh, and I meant to say - I had proper uterine pain, actual aching for about a week when I was around 16 weeks - it all felt bruised and sore, but it just went away after a while. I think that our bodies are doing lots of growing and stretching and it can be a bit sore sometimes!
