He didn't drink any more than any one else but he'd really reek the next day. I'm ashamed to say, I quite like the smell. I like the smell of garlic on people the next day too
Weirdo

Made the terrible terrible mistake of weighing myself at boots as my scales at home doesnt work . i knew my weight when i started as i was going to the gym then ( trying to lose weight) to my shock discovered tt i have put just under 2 stones :eek:and i still got 7 weeks to go . Iam not stuffing my face type my portions have always been quiet normal so depressed now
I'm also 33 wks and last time I checked I'd put on just under 2 stones too if that helps (It helped me to know that you gained the same as me:o). I try not to overeat and, if I'm completely honest, the weight gain bothered me in the beginning, until I got a bump, then I just realised I'm responsible for another human being so if I need to gain a bit more weight to make sure s/he is healthy, then so be it! Despite all the side effects of pregnancy, I can honestly say I love it:Dmishkanorman wrote: »Weirdo

* I'm not so sure they're not onto something here though... paediatricians deal with illnesses and are not too great with day to day stuff. (And that's from someone whose brother is a paediatrician!)
I'm sure with the day to day stuff HV's know more (well some!) but when it comes to medical advice about medications (Poppy has a heart defect) the Consultant's advice will be taken every time!! Though our Consultant is very good and has 6 children so I think he's probably quite good with the day to day stuff as well!! :rotfl:
Now GP's in my experience really don't much about much - but that's for a different thread!!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

i love the smell of garlic too.
not alcohol on a person though. ewww. esp now. once dh went out and as soon as he walked around the bed to come into bed i could smell it and i felt sick. yuck. lol
dizsie i was a light weight too before getting pregnant. i havent touched alcohol at all for 6 months now so when i do i might get !!!!ed with a sip. i enjoyed my red wine and i find that relaxing. i can wait though as my taste buds have changed anyway.
i wanted to watch one of my dvds but dh's laptop doesnt have a drive so i found this online. just watching her made me more tired. how can some women do it? i have no energy!!!:(

I love the smell (and taste) of garlic and onions as well. Luckily me and DH agree on that one so we can have bad breath together
I doubt many people are as lightweight as me, literally one glass of bucks fizz and I'm tipsy, give me an alcopop and I'm on the floor! I haven't missed alcohol at all whilst pregnant, and the smell of it turns my stomach now too.
I have no idea what you're watching Rups, for some reason my laptop blocks YouTube, but from the pulling belly description I'm confused lol!Cross Stitch Cafe member no.800 -
Googles BF and alcohol and got this (I BF and would have 2 glasses of wine once a week):
In general, if you are sober enough to drive, you are sober enough to breastfeed. Less than 2% of the alcohol consumed by the mother reaches her blood and milk. Alcohol peaks in mom’s blood and milk approximately 1/2-1 hour after drinking (but there is considerable variation from person to person, depending upon how much food was eaten in the same time period, mom’s body weight and percentage of body fat, etc.). Alcohol does not accumulate in breastmilk, but leaves the milk as it leaves the blood; so when your blood alcohol levels are back down, so are your milk alcohol levels.
Always keep in mind the baby’s age when considering the effect of alcohol. A newborn has a very immature liver, so minute amounts of alcohol would be more of a burden. Up until around 3 months of age, infants detoxify alcohol at around half the rate of an adult. An older baby or toddler can metabolize the alcohol more quickly.0 -

me too which is why i might as well keep away from alcohol and now it seems like from exercise too. i was watching some pilates videos on you tube as everyone goes on about how good they are for making tummy muscles stronger. this woman doing it (second video) is 30 weeks preg and she is showing some pelvic exercises but she sucks her tummy in and out. looks really ouch for the baby.Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!
