Hi. I am really hoping someone is online and will be able to help me!

I got accepted by Textbroker as a 3 star. I waited for ages for an assignment to come up and the first one came yesterday.

As others have described on this thread, I spent an inordinate amount of time on this article because I wanted it to be perfect and help towards increasing my star rating.

An hour or so ago, I decided it was as good as it could be and I tried to submit it. However the key word checker will not register any of the keywords. I have checked and double checked them. They match spelling and capitalisation perfectly. The number is correct but Textbroker is not registering any of them.

I tried phoning them but there is no-one there. I've emails but so far no reply.

To make matters worse, I have no "Contact" button on the page above Contacts and Account as indicated in the paragraph about reporting technical issues regarding keywords.

I feel like crying because I spent so much time over this article and now I fear the deadline will pass before it's resolved making it look as though I didn't bother to fulfil my obligation and losing the work into the bargain.

Has anyone else had this issue and if so, how was it resolved?

If it's the same one as I did, the keywords had to have kw and a number after them. Also note that some have a space before the number, and some don't!

Also, the keywords can only be used 1-2 times or the textbroker system won't accept them, however the client asks for them to be used in each of the THREE sections! I got around this by putting the first two of each keywords correctly (ie with the KW after them), and the remainder without. The client is probably going to be confused as to why they've received a load of articles with kw's in, but that's the way the system works I suppose! I did check with support and was told that that is the way the client entered them so that's how they have to be written!
  • I figured it out myself!

The client has added "keyword #" after each of the keywords in the list. When I typed this into the text, it was immediately accepted. I hadn't appreciated that this was part of the keyword field content.

It seems really odd to me that someone would want a piece of text which reads (e.g. - not actual text):-
Are you looking for a new inject printer keyword 1? If so, then you might love out new 3-in-1 keyword 2 model.

It's the first time I've done this and according to the FAQs, the keywords might well seem odd, so I have done what is asked and fingers crossed, it will be accepted.

Oh I did the same as you :-) I hedged my bets and only added the KW# with the first one and omitted the others.

I'd love to know the reasoning behind it.
  • Oh no! I've had it punted straight back to me because it says it has detected segments which match an external source, but it doesn't say which.

Could this relate to the content which the client specifically requested to be included? I only worked from their own brief. I printed it off and wrote the article by hand.

This seems like an awful lot of time and effort for a couple of pounds remuneration :(

    Mo-Fri, 9am-5pm, maybe.

    Not 11.27am on Saturday...
  • Hi,
I recently joined textbroker and submitted my fifth article 2 weeks ago. I followed the suggestion to message Support in order to make sure they were reviewed promptly, however I am still waiting. I sent a second message a couple of days ago and got a duplicate response back from them.
Can anyone tell me how long they had to wait for their account to be unlocked?
    Thanks

Sorry, now that my panic is over, I see others had same probs with this job.

    I'm a bit frustrated with the :-
We have detected segments that coincide with an external source

Issue. I ran my article through an online plagiarism checker and it said it was 95% original. I altered the section which "failed" which was actually a list of other branches from the client's own website which I'd been asked to include. I changed the order of these and it subsequently passed 100%. However, I don't know how efficient the plagiarism checker website is that I used.

Is there a recommended plagiarism checker site that people use? I feel that it's a bit inevitable that we will coincidentally use existing phrases.

Just got my article back AGAIN saying that similar content has been detected.

I feel like giving up. I wish they would tell me what bits need revising as I really do not have a clue.
  • I have now tried five plagiarism detection sites and all are giving my article 100% pass.

I don't know what to do :-( There are several phrases in the text which are technical and comprise of 3/4 words. Could it be these?

Could I ask which plagiarism checker you are using please? Or links to a couple that people recommend? I've got revisions to do on a 3500 word rewrite of some terms and conditions the client supplied. I worked from the text given but to change the legal speak of terms and conditions so they still make sense when the client clearly took the whole text from someone else's website is nearly impossible
, before I did the whole 3500 words I did a 800 word sample and sent it to the client checking it was rewritten enough, he replied saying perfect. Clearly textbrojers plagiarism checker doesn't think so!
So frustrating and this is worth 45 euros so if it gets rejected after the hours it has taken me I will be pretty cross!

    Any tips gratefully received!

Well I reckon I am going to give up. My article has come back for the 4th time saying that:-
We have detected segments that coincide with an external source

I went through my article phrase by phrase and pasted each into Google. Each resulted in "0 results found" with the exception of one which was a totally generic phrase about the location of a branch (6 words). I reworded it and re-submitted. I really thought I'd cracked it this time because on each of the previous occasions, my article came back quickly. This one took a bit longer.

I am defeated by this one.

Incidentally, I see that quite a few of the same client's jobs have reappeared on the Assignments list. I wonder if others are having the same problems?

What a horrible start and end to my experience with Textbroker :-(
